Membrane fouling control in ultrafiltration technology for drinking water production: A review

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reviewed the fouling control in ultra-filtration technology for drinking water production in terms of different effective pretreatments and operation methods and discussed specific mechanisms and future research required are also discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetically recoverable core-shell nanocomposites with enhanced photocatalytic activity.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that this photocatalyst can be easily recycled by applying an external magnetic field while maintaining their photocatalytic activity during at least eighteen cycles of use.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of organic membrane foulants in a submerged membrane bioreactor with pre-ozonation using three-dimensional excitation–emission matrix fluorescence spectroscopy

TL;DR: It could be seen that ozonation resulted in significant reduction of intensities but little location shift of all peaks in EEM fluorescence spectra of internal foulants, but both external and internal fouling could be effectively mitigated by the pre-ozonation.
Journal ArticleDOI

ZnCl2 modified biochar derived from aerobic granular sludge for developed microporosity and enhanced adsorption to tetracycline.

TL;DR: The advertisersorption of TC on Zn-BC agreed well with the pseudo-second-order model and the Langmuir isotherm, and the thermodynamic parameters indicated that the adsorption process was a spontaneously endothermic reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of disinfection by-products formation during chlorination and chloramination of dissolved natural organic matter fractions isolated from a filtered river water

TL;DR: Results show that aromatic moieties are responsible for disinfection by-products formation for both hydrophobic and hydrophilic DOM fractions, and there exist good correlations between the values of specific ultraviolet absorbance at 254nm of the individual DOM fractions and their disinfections by-product formation potential.
