Journal ArticleDOI
Non-invasive early detection of cancer four years before conventional diagnosis using a blood test.
Xingdong Chen,Jeffrey A. Gole,Athurva Gore,He Qiye,Ming Lu,Ming Lu,Jun Min,Ziyu Yuan,Xiaorong Yang,Xiaorong Yang,Yanfeng Jiang,Tiejun Zhang,Chen Suo,Xiaojie Li,Lei Cheng,Zhenhua Zhang,Hongyu Niu,Zhe Li,Zhen Xie,Han Shi,Xiang Zhang,Min Fan,Xiaofeng Wang,Yajun Yang,Justin Dang,Catie McConnell,Juan Zhang,Jiucun Wang,Shun-Zhang Yu,Weimin Ye,Weimin Ye,Yuan Gao,Kun Zhang,Rui Liu,Li Jin +34 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that cancer can be non-invasively detected up to four years before current standard of care and patients whose disease is diagnosed in its early stages have better outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oral Microbiota and Risk for Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma in a High-Risk Area of China.
Xingdong Chen,Björn Winckler,Ming Lu,Hongwei Cheng,Ziyu Yuan,Yajun Yang,Li Jin,Weimin Ye,Weimin Ye +8 more
TL;DR: The study on the saliva microbiome observed a correlation between altered salivary bacterial microbiota and ESCC risk, which reflects the shift in microbial communities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Poor oral health is associated with an increased risk of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma - a population-based case-control study in China.
TL;DR: Increased risks associated with oral hygiene indicators and potential behavioral confounders were more pronounced in older subjects, women, non‐smokers, and non‐drinkers, and in the stratification analyses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Family history of esophageal cancer increases the risk of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
Tiantian Chen,Hongwei Cheng,Xingdong Chen,Xingdong Chen,Ziyu Yuan,Xiaorong Yang,Maoqiang Zhuang,Ming Lu,Ming Lu,Li Jin,Weimin Ye,Weimin Ye +11 more
TL;DR: The results suggest family history of esophageal cancer significantly increases the risk for ESCC, and future studies are needed to understand how the shared genetic susceptibility and/or environmental exposures contribute to the observed excess risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reproducibility and relative validity of a food frequency questionnaire developed for adults in Taizhou, China.
Maoqiang Zhuang,Ziyu Yuan,Lanfang Lin,Bin Hu,Xiaofeng Wang,Yajun Yang,Xingdong Chen,Li Jin,Ming Lu,Weimin Ye +9 more
TL;DR: The FFQ developed for adults in the Taizhou area is reasonably reliable and valid for assessment of most food and nutrient intakes and the correlations between FFQ1 and FFQ2 for most nutrients decreased after adjustment with total energy intake.
