Exploring the impacts of postharvest processing on the aroma formation of coffee beans - A review.
Gilberto Vinícius de Melo Pereira,Dão Pedro de Carvalho Neto,Antonio Irineudo Magalhães Júnior,Zulma Sarmiento Vásquez,Adriane Bianchi Pedroni Medeiros,Luciana Porto de Souza Vandenberghe,Carlos Ricardo Soccol +6 more
TL;DR: The findings of this survey showed that the volatile constituents of green coffee beans have no significant influence on the final coffee aroma composition, as only a few such compounds remain in the beans after roasting.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biotechnological approaches for cocoa waste management: A review.
Zulma Sarmiento Vásquez,Dão Pedro de Carvalho Neto,Gilberto Vinícius de Melo Pereira,Luciana Porto de Souza Vandenberghe,Priscilla Zwiercheczewski de Oliveira,Patrick B. Tiburcio,Hervé Rogez,Aristóteles Góes Neto,Carlos Ricardo Soccol +8 more
TL;DR: The biotechnological approaches implemented for the management and exploitation of cocoa by-product, related topics on cocoa production and residual biomass generation, sustainability and valorization of cocoa chain are addressed and discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Soybean hulls as carbohydrate feedstock for medium to high-value biomolecule production in biorefineries: A review.
Gustavo Amaro Bittencourt,Luciana Porto de Souza Vandenberghe,Kim Kley Valladares-Diestra,Leonardo Wedderhoff Herrmann,Ariane Fátima Murawski de Mello,Zulma Sarmiento Vásquez,Susan Grace Karp,Carlos Ricardo Soccol +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present biotechnological approaches and processes for the management and exploitation of soybean hulls, including pre-treatment methods and fermentation techniques, for the production of different biomolecules.
Journal ArticleDOI
Added-value biomolecules' production from cocoa pod husks: A review.
Luciana Porto de Souza Vandenberghe,Michael Lichten,Kim Kley Valladares-Diestra,Gustavo Amaro Bittencourt,Ariane Fátima Murawski de Mello,Zulma Sarmiento Vásquez,Priscilla Zwiercheczewski de Oliveira,Gilberto Vinícius de Melo Pereira,Carlos Ricardo Soccol +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a review of biotechnological approaches and processes for the exploitation of CPH, including pre-treatment methods for the production of different biomolecules, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
A non-waste strategy for enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose recovered from domestic wastewater.
Nelson Libardi,Luciana Porto de Souza Vandenberghe,Zulma Sarmiento Vásquez,Valcineide Oliveira de Andrade Tanobe,Júlio Cesar de Carvalho,Carlos Ricardo Soccol +5 more
TL;DR: The enzymatic hydrolysis of the WWTP residue using the produced cellulase showed better results than using the commercial cellulase complex, showing the potential of application of the produced enzyme for the hydrolytic of cellulosic residues recovered from WWTP processes.
