TL;DR: Results showed that the object of work, i.e. the psychiatric patient, is seen as socially excluded, and workers present great mental exhaustion, due to the work conditions experienced or not, specifically because of living with the objects of work.
Abstract: This study, based on social determination and the systematization by Laurell and Noriega, aims to understand the health-disease process experienced by nursing workers at a psychiatric hospital, with a view to identifying the burdens nursing workers at a psychiatric hospital are exposed to; understanding the exhaustive processes they experience and analyzing the coping strategies indicated as processes that increase quality of life at work. Data were collected through a focal group with 6 participants. Results showed that the object of work, i.e. the psychiatric patient, is seen as socially excluded. With regard to the work load, workers are exposed to all kinds of burdens, but the work load is intensified by the mental burden. Exhaustion is present in physical as well as mental terms. Workers present great mental exhaustion, due to the work conditions experienced or not, specifically because of living with the object of work.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors test whether four types of perceived organizational culture (hierarchical, clan, market, and adhocracy) influence employees' authenticity and whether behaving more authentically at work influences the extent to which employees are engaged with their jobs.
Abstract: Purpose – The idea of being authentic at work is gaining traction in both academia and organizations. The purpose of this paper is to test whether four types of perceived organizational culture (hierarchical, clan, market, and adhocracy) influence employees’ authenticity and whether behaving more authentically at work influences the extent to which employees are engaged with their jobs. Design/methodology/approach – The sample includes 208 professionals working in a variety of industries in Brazil. Hypotheses are tested using structural equation modeling. Findings – Results indicate that environments that are perceived to be more inclusive and participative, and that incentivize autonomy (i.e. clan and adhocracy cultures) neither nurture nor inhibit authenticity. On the other hand, cultures perceived to emphasize stability, order, and control (i.e. hierarchy and market cultures) are negatively related to authenticity. In addition, employees who behave more authentically at work are more engaged with their...

TL;DR: This study focused on maximizing the extraction of total phenolics and flavonoids as well as the antioxidant activity measured by the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay from roasted yerba mate as a function of time and temperature of extraction.
Abstract: This study focused on maximizing the extraction of total phenolics and flavonoids as well as the antioxidant activity measured by the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay from roasted yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis) as a function of time (5, 7.5 and 10 min) and temperature of extraction (60, 75 and 90°C). The data were subjected to Response Surface Methodology and the results showed that polynomial equations were significant, did not present lack of fit, and presented adjusted determination coefficients above 98%, proving their suitability for prediction purposes. Using the desirability function, the optimum operating conditions to obtain a higher extraction of antioxidants was found to be 10 min of extraction at 90°C, and the tea prepared under these experimental conditions presented 427.74 mg of gallic acid equivalents per liter and 80.02% of inhibition of the DPPH radical. The flavonoid content was highly correlated (r = 0.9046, p < 0.001) to the antioxidant capacity.

TL;DR: In this article, a sete enfermeiras atuavam em unidades pediatricas hospitalares e ambulatoriais, incluindo o brinquedo terapeutico em their pratica.
Abstract: Este estudo objetivou compreender como ocorre a sensibilizacao do enfermeiro para o uso do brinquedo terapeutico como instrumento de intervencao de enfermagem.
