TL;DR: A case of Morel-Lavallee lesion in an adolescent, with ultrasound and MRI correlation, is reported, and Imaging demonstrates characteristic appearance in relation to this lesion, differentiating it from other mass lesions.
Abstract: The Morel-Lavallee lesion is a serous collection in the region of the greater trochanter, resulting from a closed degloving injury at the deep fascial interface. Imaging demonstrates characteristic appearance in relation to this lesion, differentiating it from other mass lesions. We report a case of Morel-Lavallee lesion in an adolescent, with ultrasound and MRI correlation.

TL;DR: The macroscopic and microscopic features of the urothelial response of the human urinary bladder to urethral catherisation are described and the severity of the epithelial inflammatory response correlates significantly with the duration of catheterisation.
Abstract: The macroscopic and microscopic features of the urothelial response of the human urinary bladder to urethral catherisation are described. The catheter reaction is characterised by a predominantly eosinophilic inflammatory response producing, macroscopically, a papillary mucosal appearance termed polypoid cystitis. The severity of the epithelial inflammatory response correlates significantly with the duration of catheterisation. Urothelial dysplasia confined to the catheter reaction site was noted in 6% of cases. The possible implications of these findings are discussed.

TL;DR: Attention is drawn to some of the striking ways in which the expression of cadherins, and of molecules of the catenin family to which they bind, may be related to tumour morphology and behaviour — one facet of the molecular histology of tumours.
Abstract: Introduction In 1991 Edelman and Crossin published a review article entitled ‘Cell adhesion molecules: implications for a molecular histology’. Their theme was that an understanding of the properties of intercellular adhesion molecules, such as those of the cadherin family, would form one of the major bases for a comprehension of molecular histology. By molecular histology they meant an explanation of the morphological characteristics of a tissue in terms of the molecules present and the functional interactions between them. In the present article we draw attention to some of the striking ways in which the expression of cadherins, and of molecules of the catenin family to which they bind, may be related to tumour morphology and behaviour — one facet of the molecular histology of tumours.

TL;DR: Treatment with isotretinoin does not reliably increase radio-iodine uptake in patients with metastatic thyroid cancer, and this treatment alone does not enable radio-odine to be used for further treatment.

TL;DR: Both sulfate supplements and changes in intestinal transit rate markedly alter the activity of the colonic bacterial flora with respect to sulfate metabolism and hydrogen disposal.
