TL;DR: Methods that augment traditional methods for baselining wind turbine performance using multi-feature estimation based on empirical data are introduced and a method for normalizing AEP uncertainty estimates is presented.
Abstract: Wind Turbine performance improvement measurements are challenging, especially when improvements affect air flow to the nacelle anemometer sensor which is often used to baseline performance. Uncertainty in this area can impede optimization of wind farms by making it difficult to 1) show the benefit of upgrades to individual turbines, 2) jointly optimize wind turbine performance in a farm, and 3) validate the effects of optimization algorithms - particularly farm level algorithms and strategies that mitigate waking affects. In this paper we introduce methods that augment traditional methods for baselining wind turbine performance using multi-feature estimation based on empirical data and present a method for normalizing AEP uncertainty estimates. This innovative method does not rely solely on nacelle anemometer estimates or expensive additional sensors, as has been the historical approach but can leverage these trusted sensors if they are available. Future directions for whole farm optimizations are discussed.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of providing a fluid seal and an end fitting of a flexible pipe is described, where an annular body has a cross section comprising a first arm portion and further arm portion extending in a spaced apart relationship away from a body end portion.
Abstract: A seal ring, a method of providing a fluid seal and end fitting are disclosed. The seal ring which provides a fluid seal between a polymer layer and an end fitting of a flexible pipe comprises an annular body that has a cross section comprising a first arm portion (500) and further arm portion (510) extending in a spaced apart relationship away from a body end portion (530).

TL;DR: In this article, a high velocity injection of fluid fuel into a stream of NOx containing combustion effluents downstream of a primary combustion zone, without the use of recirculated flue gas or other carrier gas.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for high velocity injection of a stream of fluid fuel into a stream of NOx containing combustion effluents downstream of a primary combustion zone, without the use of recirculated flue gas or other carrier gas. The apparatus includes a fuel introducing member that has a fuel receiving end for receiving fluid fuel from a fuel source and a fuel injection end for injecting the fluid fuel into the stream of combustion effluents. A fuel passage is in fluid communication with the fuel receiving end and the fuel injection end of the fuel introducing member. A means for increasing the velocity of the fluid fuel, without the need of a carrier gas, is associated with the fuel introducing member.

TL;DR: The purpose of this paper is to bring engineers up to date and give them new tools for solving harmonic problems in Variable Frequency Drive technologies.
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to bring engineers up to date and give them new tools for solving harmonic problems. Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) technologies previously used only in high power applications, such as Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Drives, Active Front Ends, and 18-pulse rectifiers have moved to lower voltage and power levels. They are now widely used in industrial and commercial power systems. The techniques used in conventional harmonic analysis for the 6-pulse SCR drive no longer apply in many cases. New harmonic limitation devices, such as broadband and active filters are replacing the conventional notch filter.
