TL;DR: The NT proBNP levels had a good correlation with worsening LVEF and increased significantly as the functional severity of heart failure (HF) increased.
Abstract: Objective Shortness of breath is a common complaint for which the elderly seek medical attention in the emergency department (ED). Differentiating cardiac from respiratory causes of dyspnoea in this population is quite a challenge. N Terminal pro brain-natriuretic-peptide (NT proBNP) has been studied extensively as a biomarker of left ventricular (LV) failure.

TL;DR: A novel method called: “Twitter Trend Momentum (TTM)” is introduced for trend prediction which is the enhancement of a well-known stock market indicator called moving average convergence divergence (MACD) which is carried out as an extension to the authors' research work.
Abstract: Trend analysis over Twitter offers organizations a fast and effective way of predicting the future trends. In the recent years, a wide range of indicators and methods were used for predicting the trend on Twitter with varying results, unfortunately most of the research focused only on the emerging trends which has gained long-term attention on the Twitter platform. This article depicts trend variations, i.e. to predict whether the trend on Twitter will gain attention or not in the next few hours. Hence a novel method called: “Twitter Trend Momentum (TTM)” is introduced for trend prediction which is the enhancement of a well-known stock market indicator called moving average convergence divergence (MACD). Reason analysis for trend variation is also carried out as an extension to the authors' research work. An evaluation of the framework showed the best results which are applied to build a real-time web application called “TwitTrend.” The application acts as a real-time update and recommendation system of top trends to users.

TL;DR: It can be concluded that the proposed portable, cost-efficient Vein imaging system found to be useful for real-time clinical procedures.
Abstract: In medical domain, the identification and detection of veins is necessary for certain clinical procedures such as venipuncture and intra-venous applications. Vein imaging is also essential for diagnosis of vascular diseases. The current existing modalities for Vein Imaging are highly expensive and bulky. Thus a portable, cost-efficient Vein imaging system is proposed in this paper to view and locate subcutaneous veins. The system comprises of an IR Camera which has been fabricated with NIR LED’s of 880nm wavelength. The NIR LED’s are used as they provide better contrast and visibility of veins in the images at 880nm wavelength compared to other IR LED’s. Real time imaging of veins is acquired, processed using a program written in computer vision and displayed on the Laptop. Screenshot of vein images obtained are assessed through a pilot study for 96 subjects based on age, gender and complexion using the Statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) software. The vein images obtained are clinically validated by doctors. It can be concluded that the proposed system found to be useful for real-time clinical procedures. TL;DR: Various application frameworks are examined in order to demonstrate the interaction of the components of IoT with an Android Application to enhance the mobility of VI people in a wider range of travel activities.
Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) is a revolution in the field of Computing and communication. IoT can offer assistance and support to people with disabilities to achieve a better life. Visually impaired (VI) people face many challenges while traveling. Despite many research efforts in this area, no single solution has not been widely accepted by the blind community, mainly because existing systems cannot satisfy all of VI's mobility needs. Various application frameworks are examined in order to demonstrate the interaction of the components of IoT with an Android Application. Our ultimate research goal is to enhance the mobility of VI people in a wider range of travel activities.
