Abstract: A field trial with the potato varietyWhite Rose was carried out in order to investigate the influence of soil drought conditions at planting time on the subsequent growth behaviour and on the tuber yield, Drought at planting time delays tuber set, shortens the tuber formation period, increases tuber number, promotes their active bulking and produces a significant increase in yield. When soil drought conditions are permitted to develop at the beginning of the tuberization stage, the tuber formation period is lengthened to the detriment of their number, growth and yield. These detrimental effects almost disappear if planting is carried out under high soil moisture stress. Thus, drought hardening at the critical stage of water requirement would arise as an after-effect of drought at planting time.

Abstract: Internal friction due to precipitates has been studied in a Cu–3%Co alloy after ageing and cold working. Comparison with results of electron transmission observations from the literature shows conclusively that only in coherent precipitates produce an internal friction peak. This confirms earlier theoretical predictions. A simple model is presented in terms of interface dislocations to explain the internal friction peak. Es wurde die innere Reibung infolge von Ausscheidungen in einer Cu–3%Co-Legierung nach Altern und Verformung untersucht. Ein Vergleich mit Ergebnissen von Elektronen-transmissionsbeobachtungen aus der Literatur zeigt eindeutig, das nur inkoharente Ausscheidungen ein Dampfungsmaximum hervorrufen. Dies bestatigt fruhere theoretische Voraussagen. Ein einfaches Modell wird vorgeschlagen, das zeigt, wie Versetzungen in der Grenzflache das Dampfungsmaximum verursachen konnen.

Abstract: Ratas inyectadas con diferentes dosis de prenylamina (gluconato) presentaron una marcada disminucion de la actividad motora espontanea y de los niveles de noradrenalina en el hipotalamo, talamo y corteza cerebral, pero no en el tegmento del mesencefalo. Se detecto una estrecha relacion entre la caida de la concentracion de NA hipotalamica y la disminucion de la actividad espontanea con las diferentes dosis de prenylamina empleadas.

Abstract: Single crystal plates of Al with a thickness of about 1 mm oriented for easy glide are deformed in tensile tests. In addition the orientation of the Burgers vector of the primary system is chosen so that in stage I the deformation is carried mainly either by edge dislocations (E-type crystal) or by screw dislocations (S-type crystal). This follows from the fact that the slip line length is so large that one of the dislocation components escapes through the plate surface. The flow stress for E-type crystals is found to be about 1/3 higher than that for S-type crystals independently of temperature. For E-type crystals the strain-hardening curve begins practically with the transition to stage II and violations of Schmid's law of critical resolved shear stress are observed: in E-type crystals deformation can start in a secondary system which has more screw character than the primary one. Mittelorientierte Einkristallplatten aus Al, etwa 1 mm dick, werden im Zugversuch verformt. Der Burgersvektor des Hauptgleitsystems wird auserdem so gewahlt, das im Bereich I die Verformung hauptsachlich entweder von Stufenversetzungen (E-Kristall) oder von Schraubenversetzungen (S-Kristall) getragen wird, da der mittlere Laufweg der Versetzungen so gros ist, das die entsprechende andere Versetzungskomponente an der Plattenoberflache austritt. Es wird gefunden, das die Fliesspannung fur E-Kristalle etwa 1/3 hoher ist als fur S-Kristalle, unabhangig von der Temperatur. Fur E-Kristalle beginnt die Verfestigungskurve praktisch mit dem Ubergang zum Bereich II, und es wird eine Verletzung des Schmidschen Schubspannungsgesetzes beobachtet: In E-Kristallen kann die Verformung in einem Sekundarsystem beginnen, welches mehr Schraubencharakter hat als das Primarsystem.

Abstract: Veneziano amplitudes for rm: scattering are analyzed with regards to finite energy sum rules. It is shown that significant discrepancies may appear in the evaluation of FESR for real parts of non-forward scattering amplitudes. On the contrary, failure of FESR for the imaginary part of the amplitude only appears when the second daughter Regge pole is in­ cluded. Possible phenomenological implications are discussed.
