Abstract: Market-Basket Analysis is a process to analyze the habits of buyers to find the relationship between different items in their market basket. The discovery of these relationships can help the merchant to develop a sales strategy by considering the items frequently purchased together by customers. In this research, the data mining with market basket analysis method is implemented, where it can analyze the buying habit of the customers. The testing is conducted in Minimarket X. Searching for frequent itemsets performed by Apriori algorithm to get the items that often appear in the database and the pair of items in one transaction. Pair of items that exceed the minimum support will be included into the frequent itemsets are selected. Frequent itemsets that exceed the minimum support will generate association rules after decoding. One frequent itemsets can generate association rules and find the confidence, which is uses a hybrid-dimension association rules. The test results show, the application can generate the information what kind of products are frequently bought in the same time by the customers according to Hybrid-dimension Association Rules criteria. Results from the mining process show a correlation between the data (association rules) including the support and confidence that can be analyzed. This information will give additional consideration for owners of Minimarket X to make the further decision.

Abstract: Increasing electricity demand in Java-Madura-Bali, Indonesia, must be addressed appropriately to avoid blackout by determining accurate peak load forecasting. Econometric approach may not be sufficient to handle this problem due to limitation in modelling nonlinear interaction of factors involved. To overcome this problem, Elman and Jordan Recurrent Neural Network based on Levenberg-Marquardt learning algorithm is proposed to forecast annual peak load of Java-Madura-Bali interconnection for 20092011. Actual historical regional data which consists of economic, electricity statistic and weather during 1995-2008 are applied as inputs. The networks structure is firstly justified using true historical dat a of 1995-2005 to forecast peak load of 2006-2008. Afterwards, peak load forecasting of 2009-2011 is conducted subsequently using actual historical data of 1995-2008. Overall, the proposed networks shown better performance compared to that obtained by Levenberg-Marquardt-Feedforward network, Double-log Multiple Regression, and with projection by PLN for 2006-2010.

Abstract: This paper examines utilization of low-rank coal and geothermal energy resources in the long-term Indonesian electricity expansion planning in high populated islands Java, Madura, and Bali up to 2027. The long-term electricity expansion of these areas meets several problems such as supply security, financial limitation, and environmental issues. Therefore, the modeling of long-term geothermal and low-rank coal utilization is examined in terms of expansion cost as well as the environmental impacts. In 2027, the required capacity to fulfill future demand is estimated 133 GW. Under the coal scenarios, the domination of coal becomes bigger with 75.4 GW or 57% of total electricity generation mix. However, under the geothermal scenarios, the installed power plant form geothermal sources increase to be 7 GW and coal utilization decreases to be only 67.6 GW or 51% of total electricity generation share. In the economic perspective, more geothermal power plant need to be developed in order to reduce to coal utilization in power generation. In the end of planning horizon, the coal scenario emits as much as 487 million tons of CO2 equivalents, while the geothermal scenario successes to reduce emissions by 43.3 million tons from the coal scenario's emissions.

TL;DR: In this article, an extension of the finite element method using Kriging interpolation (K-FEM) has been proposed and applied to solve one-and two-dimensional linear elasticity problems.
Abstract: An enhancement of the finite element method using Kriging interpolation (K-FEM) has been recently proposed and applied to solve one- and two- dimensional linear elasticity problems. The key advantage of this innovative method is that the polynomial refinement can be performed without adding nodes or changing the element connectivity. This paper presents the development of the K-FEM for static and free vibration analyses of Timoshenko beams. The transverse displacement and the rotation of the beam are independently approximated using Kriging interpolation. For each element, the interpolation function is constructed from a set of nodes within a prescribed domain of influence comprising the element and its several layers of neighbouring elements. In an attempt to eliminate the shear locking, the selective-reduced integration technique is utilized. The developed beam element is tested to several static and free vibration problems. The results demonstrate the excellent performance of the developed element.

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of bottom ash to partially replaced sand in geopolymer mortar on the mixture water demand and mechanical property were investigated with fixed flow, with 10% of sand substitution by bottom ash, the influences of the following quotients by mass on flow and compressive strength were studied.
Abstract: This experimental research focused on utilizing fly ash as source material and bottom ash as partial sand (fine aggregates) substitution in geopolymer mortar. Both of these products of combustion were obtained from Sejingkat coal fired power plant in Kuching. The effects of inclusion of bottom ash to partially replaced sand in geopolymer mortar on the mixture water demand and mechanical property were investigated with fixed flow. With 10% of sand substitution by bottom ash, the influences of the following quotients by mass on flow and compressive strength were studied: liquid alkaline to fly ash ratio, extra water to fly ash ratio, extra 12M potassium hydroxide (KOH) to fly ash ratio and the superplasticizer (SP) to fly ash ratio. Besides, the effect of mixing procedures on compressive strength of potassium activated geopolymer mortar was also being studied. Inclusion up to 50% of sand replacement by bottom ash in the geopolymer mixtures with 110± 5% fixed flow decreased the extra water demand of the fresh mortars. Further substitution beyond 50% increased the water requisite to maintain the flow within the addressed range. More bottom ash content has resulted in decreasing maximum sustainable compressive load per unit area of the mortars. Additions of liquid alkaline by mass of fly ash quotient linearly increased the flow of the geopolymer mortars; with duly rise in strength relative to the control sample due to boosted geopolymerisation process. The incorporation of extra water was more efficient than modified polycarboxylate superplasticizer in terms of flow improvement, with similar slight reduction in the strength at 7 days on account of the increased in liquid content. However, the mortar incorporated with the superplasticizer possessed superior compressive strength at 28 days over the mortar added with extra water. Additional extra 12M KOH has been effective in improving the flow of the control sample and inclusion of extra KOH/FA ratio by mass up to 0.06 has increased the maximum stress the specimen mortars can withstand under crush loadings. Incorporation beyond the ratio led to deterioration in the compressive strength. Premixing of fly ash with KOH solution has complimentary effect over the normal mixing sequence on the compressive strength of the geopolymer mortars.

Abstract: Two-wheeled balancing robot is one of interesting non-linear plant. The goal is to control the robot so that it can move with only two wheels. This paper elaborates the design and evaluation of its chassis. The chassis is constructed with Lego Mindstorm NXT and controlled by the AVR ATMega16 microcontroller. The system uses MX2125 accelerometer sensor from Parallax to evaluate the robot chassis. Two chassis design, i.e. model A and B are developed. From the experiments, it is shown that robot chassis design must address the mechanically stable issue. Therefore chassis model A is discarded. PD controller is recommended for this chassis model B. The chassis also considers the flexibility to mount such a load. Mounting load under the axis helps to stabilize the chassis. This makes the controller design easier. The load position opens the further research topic. Using Lego Mindstorm is very helpful in design and evaluation of mechatronics set up.

TL;DR: In this paper, a case study of an innovative approach for seismic strengthening of a typical six story residential building with a soft/weak first story using buckling restrained braces (BRBs) is presented.
Abstract: Past earthquake disasters have shown that irregular gravity load designed (GLD) reinforced concrete (RC) frame buildings were very vulnerable to strong ground shaking. Many of them collapsed and caused loss of human lives as well as materials. Hence, in order to prevent future disasters, this type of buildings needs to be strengthened against earthquake. This paper presents a case study of an innovative approach for seismic strengthening of a typical six story residential building with a soft/weak first story using buckling restrained braces (BRBs). The seismic performance of the original GLD building and the retrofitted one are compared using three dimensional nonlinear dynamic time history analysis in OpenSees. The analysis results show that the innovative seismic strengthening approach for irregular GLD RC frame buildings using BRBs can significantly reduce maximum story drifts as well as building damages which benefits in reducing the risk of building’s collapse during earthquake.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe that in this fast-changing world, media in Indonesia has undergone a rapid transformation using internet technology, and the most important structural new media characteristic is the integration of telecommunications, data communications and mass communication in a single medium, it is the convergence.
Abstract: My aim in writing this paper is to describe that in this fast-changing world, media in Indonesia has undergone a rapid transformation. Digital technology continues to reshape the mass media landscape using internet technology. Internet brings a technical communication revolution, a fundamental change takes place in the structure of connections, artificial memories and the reproduction of their content. Internet technology has made communication much easier and less expensive. It has attracted many people and has penetrated into people’s daily lives. The mass media also have accepted the internet. Almost all forms of traditional media (old media) in local media, such as radio, television, and newspaper have extended their work into this new field. The internet and the World Wide Web have both significantly influenced modern journalism. In online media allows readers to enjoy browsing their product and service of contents, such as news feed, podcasts, desktop alert, news on mobile phones, PDA and others mobile devices. Online media offer not only text but also digital images , audio file, moving images (video), internet radio and internet t v. The interactive features of the internet seemingly imply that online media have more advantages than traditional media forms (old media). So, the internet have dramatically evolved become new media with characteristic multimedia, hypertext, interactivity, archives , and virtuality. The most important structural new media characteristic is the integration of telecommunications, data communications and mass communication in a single medium – it is the convergence. It should be pointed out that the trend toward digital is affecting the various media and brings the local media in East Java to become a global media, where breaking news from Surabaya or anywhere in East Java is transmitted to around the world in a matter of minutes . The research was carried out to find out how user reception on convergence media, journalism and local media on the site of SuaraSurabaya.net and how to access subjective meanings that they have created based on t heir understanding on online media so far. The research is also interested in looking into user reception on information and communication technology based on its relevance with the selected theme namely discourses on global media in website of Radio Suara Surabaya.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the behavior of omo hada under spectrum consistent ground acceleration and found that the friction type support acts as base isolation, which significantly reduces the internal forces in the structure.
Abstract: While modern buildings in Nias collapsed due to the March 28, 2005 strong earthquake (8.7 on Richter scale), the traditional northern Nias house (omo hada) survived without any damage. Omo hada has an oval plan with a raised platform consisting of wooden beam and plank supported by a complex arrangement of posts (ehomo) and x type bracing (diwa). The posts are not fixed on the ground, but rest on top of stone foundations. This kind of friction type support is also evident in other traditional houses in Indonesia. In this study, the behaviour of omo hada under spectrum consistent ground acceleration is studied. The supports of the traditional house are modeled as coulomb friction model and fixed support. Results of analysis show that the friction type support acts as base isolation. The presence of sliding at the friction type support significantly reduces the internal forces in the structure.

Abstract: This paper presents an optimum sizing assessment for stand-alone hybrid distributed energy system feeding a sub-village sized household community in the rural areas, affected by loading types based on demand side management principle. Simulations are carried out over the combination of hybrid power generation taking into account PV-battery, wind turbine, and diesel generator. Three loading management in which considered in this study are peak clipping, load shifting, and valley filling. Optimum hybrid generation sizing for each loading type is subject to minimum cost of energy. Besides, renewable generation fraction provided system optimum sizing is analyzed accordingly. The simulation result reveals that the least cost of energy is achieved by load shifting scheme with USD 0.39/kWh taking into account the combination of PV-battery, wind turbine, and diesel generator. In addition, the largest renewable energy fraction obtained from load shifting type as well, accounted for 73%.
