02 Dec 2013TL;DR: In this paper, a retention feature for use in a gas turbine engine is described, which includes a ceramic post, an insert, and a braze layer coupling the insert to the ceramic post.
Abstract: A retention feature for use in a gas turbine engine is disclosed herein. The retention feature includes a ceramic post, an insert, and a braze layer coupling the insert to the ceramic post. The ceramic post includes a body adapted to be coupled to a turbine engine component and a head coupled to the body. The insert is arranged in a space formed in the head and the braze layer extends from the ceramic post to the insert to bond the insert to the ceramic post.

17 Nov 2009TL;DR: A turbine airfoil arrangement for a gas turbine engine includes an inlet and an exit, the inlet configured to receive a cooling gas flow operable to cool at least part of an other airframe.
Abstract: A turbine airfoil arrangement for a gas turbine engine includes an airfoil having an inlet and an exit, the inlet configured to receive a cooling gas flow operable to cool at least part of an other airfoil; and a passage disposed in the airfoil and fluidly coupled to the inlet and the exit, the exit being configured to pass at least some of the cooling gas flow to the other airfoil.

27 Jan 2016TL;DR: A turbine vane for use in a gas turbine engine is described in this article, which includes an inner platform, an outer platform, and an airfoil that extends from the inner platform to the outer platform.
Abstract: A turbine vane for use in a gas turbine engine is disclosed. The turbine vane includes an inner platform, an outer platform spaced from the inner platform, and an airfoil that extends from the inner platform to the outer platform. The airfoil includes a ceramic-containing web that forms a portion of the airfoil and a metallic load shield that forms another portion of the airfoil.
