01 Jan 2019TL;DR: A new hybrid multiobjective heuristic algorithm based on Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm-II and Gravitational Search Algorithm called as NSGA-II & GSA to facilitate selection of VM for scheduling of an application is described.
Abstract: In cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environment, selecting the Virtual Machines (VM) from different data centers, with multiple objectives like reduction in response time, minimization in cost and energy consumption, is a complex issue due to the heterogeneity of the services in terms of resources and technology. The existing solutions are computationally intensive; rely heavily on obtaining single trade-off solution by aggregating multiple objectives in a priori fashion which inversely affects the quality of solution. This article describes the new hybrid multiobjective heuristic algorithm based on Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm-II (NSGA-II) and Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA) called as NSGA-II & GSA to facilitate selection of VM for scheduling of an application. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms and fulfills the prescribed objective as compared to other multiobjective scheduling algorithms.

TL;DR: The Region of Interest (ROI) in an image and trying to embed data in Region of Non Interest (RONI) is defined and Arnold's cat map method (Arnold's Transform) is proposed to improve the information security.
Abstract: In Medical Industry, the patient's information plays a very vital role for telediagnosis and telesurgery. Medical image content authentication is very important, since medical image contents are more and more widely distributed. Reversible watermarking becomes a promising technique to embed the information into medical images. In this paper, we define the Region of Interest (ROI) in an image and trying to embed data in Region of Non Interest(RONI). When medical image shared through network, for the compression purpose we proposed the JPEG2000 algorithm and to improve the information security to maintain the secrecy, reliability and accessibility of the embedded data we have proposed Arnold's cat map method (Arnold's Transform). Patient information and disease information is embedded into DICOM images. Increase in authentication can be achieved when medical expert's access secured medical images from web servers using Kerberos technique.

11 Apr 2013TL;DR: This work investigates the effect of varying the anchor node density on localization error with minimum number of anchor nodes thereby enhancing an accuracy of the network and shows that the outdoor environment has the better distance estimation than an indoor environment.
Abstract: Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are widely used in many environments and adverse terrains Location estimation of sensor nodes is still a crucial area of research because of new localization requirements One of the main hurdles facing sensor localization in WSNs is accuracy Many localization algorithms and techniques have been proposed to estimate the position of nodes In this paper, we consider an RSSI (received signal strength indicator) range based localization algorithm that relies on measuring the received signal strength indicator for distance estimation In this work, we conducted the experiments in outdoor and indoor environments to derive the path loss model The result shows that the outdoor environment has the better distance estimation than an indoor environment Hence we investigate the effect of varying the anchor node density on localization error with minimum number of anchor nodes thereby enhancing an accuracy of the network

01 Jan 2021TL;DR: The main focus of as discussed by the authors is to study the emission and performance characteristics of hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and kerosene blends and use them as an alternate fuel source for the diesel engines.
Abstract: The main focus of this work is to study the emission and performance characteristics of hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and kerosene blends and use them as an alternate fuel source for the diesel engines. The HVO and kerosene were blend in the required proportions such as HTB10, HTB20, and HTB30. The HVO blends were tested in a VCR test engine for varied load conditions such as 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The results were analyzed and the emission and performance characteristics of the HVO blends were compared with diesel.
