09 Dec 2004TL;DR: In this article, a water-based flux for hot-dip batch galvanizing of steel was proposed, which reduced the heat transfer coefficient between the steel and the zinc melt.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a water based flux for hot-dip batch galvanising of steel. Steel articles are hereby subjected to rapid heating, in particular when using a zinc-bath composition with a high wetting ability towards steel. It is an aim of the present invention to alleviate the thermal stress problem by using fluxes which, upon dipping, reduce the heat transfer coefficient between the steel and the zinc melt. The invented flux comprises a total of 200 to 600 g/l of ZnC12 and NH4C1, with a NH4C1 to ZnC12 molar ratio of 1.7 to 3.3, and is characterised in that it further comprises 8 to 80 g/l A1C13.

08 Nov 2013TL;DR: In this article, a catalyst system for treatment of diesel exhaust gas, comprising, in flow direction of the exhaust gases, a nitrogen oxide storage catalyst containing a nitrogen dioxide storage component and noble metal and a diesel particulate filter containing noble metal selected from the group of platinum, palladium, and platinum and palladium was presented.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a catalyst system for treatment of diesel exhaust gas, comprising, in flow direction of the exhaust gas, a nitrogen oxide storage catalyst containing a nitrogen oxide storage component and noble metal and a diesel particulate filter containing noble metal selected from the group of platinum, palladium, and platinum and palladium, characterized in that the noble metal loading of the nitrogen oxide storage catalyst is 100 to 180 g/ft3 (3.53 to 6.36 g/L) and the noble metal loading of the diesel particulate filter is 5 to 35 g/ft3 (0.18 to 1.24 g/L).

TL;DR: An overview of recent developments in vapor explosion studies, including small-scale and large-scale experiments, and vapor explosion modeling is provided in this article, where the state-of-the-art setups for both scales are discussed.
Abstract: This paper provides an overview of recent developments in vapor explosion studies, including small- and large-scale experiments, and vapor explosion modeling. Modeling is most often carried out on large-scale systems since these models are often used at an industrial scale. Small-scale experiments typically have a configuration of droplet impingement, whereas large-scale experiments more frequently use a configuration including jetting. The state-of-the-art setups for both scales are discussed in this work, and current state-of-the-art vapor explosion modeling is reviewed.
