TL;DR: In this paper, the authors define a weakened rationality by two conditions, related to (but different from) Schwartz's rationality conditions, and apply the results to collective choice theory by proving that there exists one and only one Collective Choice Rule that is fully democratic and yields consistent, rational choice functions.
Abstract: Though they are related, " consistency " and " rationality " are different concepts. Consistency is concerned with what happens to choices when the set of available alternatives expands or contracts. Rationality is concerned with how the choices are related to a binary relation on the set of all alternatives. In this paper we define a weakened consistency by a strengthening of Sen's ,B condition (Sen [9], [10], [11]). We also define a weakened rationality by two conditions, related to (but different from) Schwartz's rationality conditions [8]. We study the relations between consistency and rationality thus defined, and apply the results to collective choice theory by proving that there exists one and only one Collective Choice Rule that is fully democratic and yields consistent, rational choice functions. Also, the revealed preference relations of these choice functions are transitive.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the manganese-oxygen-potassium system for K/Mn ratios ≤ 1, and showed that the decomposition of the system leads to new phases having vacancy layer structures with oxygen packing AABBCC and AABB.
Abstract: Resume. The KxMnO2 Phases (x ≤ 1) The investigation of the manganese-oxygen-potassium system for K/Mn ratios ≤1 leads to new phases having vacancy layer structures with oxygen packing AABBCC and AABB; The distorsions vary with the content of manganese(III). The larger size of potassium atoms allows only the formation of a hollandite type tunnel phase.

TL;DR: The icosahedral arrangement is a rather compact way of packing twelve atoms between which the small number of available electrons could be efficiently shared as discussed by the authors, and the Bis clusters are linked together by orientated bonds either directly (inter-icosahedral bond) or through isolated atoms.
Abstract: The various modifications of elemental boron and a number of boronrich phases have the common feature of being characterized by a three-dimensional skeleton of boron atoms built from icosahedral units of twelve boron atoms. The existence of icosahedral clusters, although unusual in crystal chemistry, is not entirely surprising in the case of covalent boron-rich phases, since the atom of boron has only three valence electrons. An icosahedral arrangement is a rather compact way of packing twelve atoms between which the small number of available electrons could be efficiently shared. The Bis clusters are linked together by orientated bonds, either directly (inter-icosahedral bond) or through isolated atoms. The variety and complexity of the structures of boron and boron-rich phases are the result of the special crystallographic features of the icosahedral Bi2 units and of their particular modes of association [ 11. The principles which rule the associations of the icosahedral Bis units will be illustrated in the case of MgAlBi,, Mg,B14 and Na,BB,,(O < x < 1) phases.

TL;DR: Full enumeration of known localities shows the genus Grania to have a broad, disjunct distribution, low species number, and morphological conservatism, and the consideration of Hemigrania as a junior synonym, because of the now established absence of peptonephridia in Grania.
Abstract: Erseus, C. (Department of Zoology, University of Goteborg, S-400 33 Goteborg, Sweden) and Lasserre, P. Taxonomic status and geographic variation of the marine enchytracid genus Grania Southern (Oligochaeta). Zool. Scr. 5 (3–4): 121–132, 1976.—New material from Europe, Bermuda and the eastern coast of North America allow more realistic determination of the generic characteristics of the marine enchytraeid genus Grania. This re-evaluation of Grania necessitates the consideration of Hemigrania as a junior synonym, because of the now established absence of peptonephridia in Grania. Full enumeration of known localities shows the genus Grania to have a broad, disjunct distribution, low species number, and morphological conservatism. G. postclitellochaeta (Knollner) and G. macrochaeta (Pierantoni) are considered as polytypic species, containing respectively two (including G. postclitellochaeta longiducta subsp.n.) and three (including G. macrochaeta bermudensis subsp.n.) subspecies. G. maricola Southern, G. roscoffensis Lasserre, G. vario-chaeia sp.n. and G. monospermatheca sp.n. are considered as monotypic species.
