TL;DR: The authors present an image processing method to detect lane departure in forward-facing video specifically designed to be in accordance with proposed automotive lane departure warning standards, and presents a method for lane boundary modelling based on subtractive clustering and Kalman filtering in the Hough transform domain, within the constraints of automotive standards.
Abstract: The increasing trend towards the use of image sensors in transportation is driven both by legislation and consumer demands for higher safety and a better-driving experience. Awareness of the environment that surrounds a vehicle can make driving and manoeuvring of the vehicle much safer for all road users. The authors present an image processing method to detect lane departure in forward-facing video specifically designed to be in accordance with proposed automotive lane departure warning standards. Our system uses a novel lane-marking segmentation algorithm in accordance with national standards for lane markings. This method does not demand the high computational requirements of inverse perspective mapping unlike methods proposed in related research. The authors present a method for lane boundary modelling based on subtractive clustering and Kalman filtering in the Hough transform domain, which is within the constraints of automotive standards. Finally, using the cameras intrinsic and extrinsic parameters, the width of the vehicle and guidelines issued by the International Organisation for Standardisation, we show how lane departure can be identified. Results are presented that verify the systems high detection rate and robustness to various background interference, lighting conditions and road environments.

TL;DR: This paper has developed the equivalent circuit of the interleaved LLC resonant converter, with its primary sideconnected in series and its secondary side connected in parallel, to have relatively high precision in current continuous mode and satisfactory precision inCurrent discontinuous mode.
Abstract: Based on the fundamental approximation equivalent circuit of a single cell LLC resonant converter, this paper has developed the equivalent circuit of the interleaved LLC resonant converter, with its primary side connected in series and its secondary side connected in parallel. The load sharing characteristics of the series-parallel connected interleaved LLC converter is then analyzed and a current sharing mathematical model is developed to illustrate the current sharing principles. A case example of a 300/12–18V, 2.5kW, 500kHz interleaved LLC resonant converter is designed and simulated to verify the proposed load sharing model. The established model's error analysis is conducted and the developed model is proved to have relatively high precision in current continuous mode and satisfactory precision in current discontinuous mode. The Monte Carlo analysis is executed to get an overall review of current sharing among different frequencies and the Worst Case analysis is executed to reveal the sensitivity of different influencing factors. The paper provides innovative and valuable references for the dimensioning of series-parallel connected interleaved LLC resonant converters.

TL;DR: In this article, the analysis of two groups of stator samples was carried out for several levels of excitation field at 50 Hz and the loss separation technique has then been investigated for the SS samples.
Abstract: Manufacturing processes may introduce a significant variability on the magnetic properties of claw pole generator stators. The present work deals with the analysis of two groups of stator samples. The first group is composed of 28 slinky stators (SS) and the second group is composed of 5 stators, manufactured using laser cut stacked laminations (SL). Both groups are made from the same lamination grade and with the same geometrical dimensions. Characterization was carried out for several levels of excitation field at 50 Hz. A noticeable variability has been observed on the iron losses for SS samples, whereas it appears to be not significant for SL samples. The loss separation technique has then been investigated for the SS samples. Results show that the variability of static losses is more important than the one of dynamic losses.

TL;DR: A technique to numerically compute optimal current references that can be used for feed-forward flux-weakening techniques in order to exploit the maximum machine performances for given DC bus voltage and current limits is proposed.
Abstract: Multi-phase synchronous machines are more and more used in specific applications where high power density, low bus voltage, wide speed range and fault-tolerant capabilities are required. Due to the high number of degrees of freedom, multi-phase machines are difficult to optimally operate in flux-weakening zones. This paper proposes a technique to numerically compute optimal current references that can be used for feed-forward flux-weakening techniques in order to exploit the maximum machine performances for given DC bus voltage and current limits. The proposed technique is applied to a five-phase permanent magnet synchronous machine specifically developed for an automotive application.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of space harmonics of magnetomotive force (MMF) and their influence on magnet volume losses in electrical machines is investigated, and various losses sub-models are deduced.
Abstract: This paper studies magnet eddy-current losses in permanent magnet (PM) machines with concentrated winding. First of all, space harmonics of magnetomotive force (MMF) and their influence on magnet losses in electrical machines are investigated. Secondly, analytical model of magnet volume losses is developed by studying the interaction between MMF harmonics wavelengths and magnet pole dimensions. Different cases of this interaction are studied according to the ratio between each harmonic wavelength and magnet pole width (following flux density variation). Then various losses sub-models are deduced. Finally, using this analytical model, magnet volume losses for many slots/poles combinations of 3, 5, and 7 phase machines with concentrated winding are compared. This comparison leads to classify combinations into different families depending on their magnet losses level. Besides, in order to validate the theoretical study, Finite Element models are built and simulation results are compared with analytical calculations.

TL;DR: A wiper blade for cleaning vehicle windows is described in this paper, where the wiper blades are mounted on a wiper arm and spring tension is provided on the adapter and/or on the warping board.
Abstract: A wiper blade for cleaning vehicle windows is disclosed. The wiper blade includes a wiper blade body extending in a wiper blade longitudinal axis, with a wiper rubber and a wiper blade adapter on the wiper blade body. The wiper blade adapter forms a mechanical connection, constructed as detent connection, of the wiper blade to a wiper arm adapter arranged on a wiper arm. The wiper blade adapter and the wiper arm adapter are connected to or released from one another at least substantially in a direction which extends perpendicularly to the wiper blade longitudinal axis. Spring are provided on the wiper blade adapter and/or on the wiper arm adapter, which provide an initial spring tension when the wiper blade is mounted on the wiper arm, and bring about a releasing force between the wiper arm adapter and the wiper blade adapter when the detent connection is released.
