TL;DR: In this article, the development of a nonlinear vehicle control system based on a combination of state-dependent Riccati equations (SDRE) and neural networks is described. And the performance of this new control approach for the current realization is evaluated.
Abstract: Small four-rotor aerial robots, so called quadrotor UAVs, have an enormous potential for all kind of near-area surveillance and exploration in military and commercial applications. In addition, they offer the possibility to fly either in-or outdoor. However, stabilizing control and guidance of these vehicles is a difficult task because of the nonlinear dynamic behavior. This paper describes the development of a nonlinear vehicle control system based on a combination of state-dependent Riccati equations (SDRE) and neural networks. Some first simulation results underline the performance of this new control approach for the current realization.

Abstract: The invention relates to a drive system for a forming press for either increasing the output rate for a defined power or reducing the output rate for said power, the number and sequence of strokes, speed and force profiles being freely programmable. Another problem of the invention is to provide a very compact drive system which allows for a small height of the head piece for the drive of the press. A final problem of the invention is to allow for the adjustment of tilt of the ram for forming presses having a plurality of working points. The solution to these problems is to combine the advantages of hydraulic presses with regard to free programmability of path, speed and force profiles with that of mechanical presses with regard to increased output, rigidity and path-bound reproducibility of the lower point of regression. The invention is characterized in that one or more electric drives as servomotors are used in the form of a direct drive or in combination with a linear converter arranged downstream thereof and act upon a five-point knee lever in such a manner as to allow, in addition to free programmability of path, speed and force profiles, a flexible utilization of path and/or force-bound sequences of movement.

Abstract: Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Steuerung und Regelung der Stoselbewegung an servo-elektrischen Pressen und eine Vorrichtung zur Durchfuhrung des Verfahrens. DOLLAR A Dazu soll mittels einer einfachen Struktur der Steuerung und Regelung sowie einer geringen Anzahl von Verfahrensschritten ein praziser und reproduzierbarer Ablauf der Stoselbewegung sowohl in Phasen der Ragegeregelten als auch kraftgeregelten Bewegung des Stosels ermoglicht und ein geregelter Betrieb sowohl zwischen mehreren Stoseldruckpunkten eines Stosels, als auch mehrerer Stosel einer Pressenanlage jeweils untereinander und zu peripheren Einrichtungen fur eine hohe Ausstosleistung gewahrleistet werden. Daruber hinaus soll die Regelgute der bei ausermittiger Kraft nutzbaren Kippungsregelung eines mit mehreren Druckpunkten ausgestatteten Stosels bei hochdynamischen Ablaufen verbessert werden. Hierzu wird entsprechend der Technik eine Blechplatine auf eine Umformtemperatur erwarmt, in das Werkzeug eingelegt und umgeformt. Die Abkuhlung der umgeformten Werkstucke erfolgt mittels Kuhlkanalen, die sich in einer Trennflache zwischen Tragerplatten und den Aktivteilen befinden. Vorzugsweise handelt es sich um offene Kuhlkanale, welche in den Stempel, die Matrize und/oder die Tragerplatte eingearbeitet sind. Vorzugsweise bestehen die (austauschbaren) Tragerplatten aus einem Isolierwerkstoff (Duroplast).

Abstract: Distributed resource allocation is a promising field for the application of multi-agent systems also in technical or industrial environments. The design of the multi-agent system then mainly comprises the definition of the agents' local knowledge and behavior as well as the definition of an interaction protocol for overall coordination. Most solutions of agent-based resource allocation however exist in static or discrete-event systems while the allocation of resources to continuous dynamic systems is hardly addressed. In order to derive the local and the interaction behavior of the agents, we refer to a mathematical formulation of the resource allocation problem as an optimization problem. Based on a marketlike coordination scheme, a new agent-based solution for the allocation of resources to continuous production processes is developed and applied to an industrial examples. The novelty hereby is the suitable combination of resource allocation and process control in continuous production.

Gas can be supplied to a gap (34) via a gas supply connection (41) which is formed between the heat exchanger tube plate (14), the feed tube plate (14a) and the feed tubes (14b). Lower ends of the feed pipes (14b) communicate with upper ends of the heat exchanger pipes (7) such that at the transition (32; 33; 36) between the lower ends of the feed pipes (14b) and the upper ends of the heat exchanger pipes (7) a gas passage (46) from the intermediate space (43) into the inlet pipes (14b) is possible. Abstract: To improve understanding of radiation damage and recovery process, especially under condition of high energy and high fluence irradiation, is currently studied at the new cross-over project (NXO). Most severe irradiation is realized by fission fragments in nuclear fuel. A guiding experiment is taken from experience in power generating Light Water Reactor (LWR) fuel. At high burnup around 7%FIMA, fuel ceramics do have restructuring of the grain sub-division where diameter of grains change down to 50 to 200 nm. The NXO investigates the process mechanism crossing over research activities of universities, national and private laboratories. Simulation studies are being performed to find principal and triggering processes, using accelerator irradiation and computational calculations. Accelerator irradiation partly succeeded to reproduce the process outside of the fission reactor using simulation material of CeO2. High resolution TEM observations, comparing microstructure changes of high burnup reactor fuel and the simulated material, shows that principal process is polygonization and indicates that Oxygen defects and planar structures, of different scales, have key role on the kinetics. Basic research works of computing science, including first principle calculations, molecular dynamics, Monte-Carlo, and meso-scale cellular automata modeling are underway. Framework of computational study is based on understanding of the repeat of passing of fission-fragment tracks, which provide overheating and quenching cycles in time domain. It throws local atoms into higher energy quasi-stable placement and configurations. Extensive experimental observations, previously obtained and presently gained by accelerator irradiations, enable the analyses to focus into key configurations in search of the target process. Stability of planar precipitation of Xenon atomson [111] plane of the fluorite structure were demonstrated by molecular dynamics calculation. Complex kinetic processes, including stability and collective behavior, of interstitial Oxygen atoms are investigated by first principle calculations, molecular dynamics and Monte-Carlo studies. Statistical irradiation-dynamics, for studying repeated energy-deposit cycles, may enable to draw kinetic phase diagrams. Discussions were made to have statistical counting of possible repeated traces, in relevant narrowed “investigation range” defined in time domain, configuration space and local energy.

Abstract: Die Durchfuhrung einer systemischen Aufstellung und losungsfokussierten Beratung stellt eine Moglichkeit dar, Studierenden Hilfestellungen fur die Verbesserung ihrer unterrichtlichen Handlungsfahigkeit zu geben, wenn beobachtbare Probleme im unterrichtlichen Handeln auf ungunstige Wirklichkeitskonstruktionen uber Unterricht und die eigene Rolle zuruckgefuhrt werden konnen. Nach einer Klarung grundsatzlicher Vorannahmen zu systemischen Aufstellungen und losungsfokussierter Beratung wird der Ablauf eines solchen Vorgehens beschrieben und anhand eines Fallbeispiels verdeutlicht. Zum Abschluss wird auf die Wirkungsweise systemischer Aufstellungen eingegangen.

Abstract: The slit lamp microscope is the most popular opthalmologic instrument comprising a microscope with a light source attached to it. The coupling of microscope and light source distinguishes it from other optical devices. In this paper an Auto Focus system is proposed that considers this mechanical coupling and compensates for movements of the patient. It tracks the patients eye during the focusing process and applies a robust contrast-measurement algorithm to an area relative to it. The proposed method proved to be very accurate, reliable and stable, even starting from very defocused positions.
