Abstract: From the point of view of improving reliability of electric distribution systems, this paper studies network reconfiguration satisfying some restrains, and for the first time applies genetic algorithms to it. The calculation for two practical systems shows that this kind of reconfiguration can not only enhance reliability of electric distribution systems but also reduce network losses.

Abstract: The distributed generation would have a significant impact after it has been connected to the power grid,and it has a close relationship with the transformer model,number of transformer units,location of the generator,the distributed generation capacity and operating mode.This paper came up with a simplified model under certain ideal conditions,and based on the change of the network structure before and after the introduction of distributed generation,derived the corresponding expression of the network loss.Finally,the paper analyzed the influence of the five factors on the net loss of the distribution network by using MATLAB simulation.The algorithm is simple and convenient.It provides a theoretical basis of choosing the location and capacity of distributed generation in the actual distribution network.

Abstract: This paper reviews global energy use in the past few decades and projections for future use based on the trends in recent years. The paper also reviews the present status of available energy resources and projections of how long they are expected to last in the future. Based on the future global energy needs, the availability of conventional resources and potential global climate change, renewable energy may have to provide for as much as 50% of the energy needs by 2050. Finally, this paper describes the present status of renewable energy use and describes renewable energy might provide the energy needs of the future.

Abstract: In this paper,the background,motivation and concept of smart grid were briefly introducedOn the basis of the smart grid and the development prospects of new energy and the characteristics and the status of the renewable energies in China,a concept of new-energy based power grid(NEPG) was suggestedNEPG is a unified power grid which would be able to connect all of the large-scale new energy based power stations together,and it can be connected to the existed power grid through some joints where the charging stations for electric vehicles are builtBecause the renewable energies are complementary within a wide area, and the charging stations can be used to regulate the fluctuations of the power,the NEPG would be able to transmit a comparatively stable power to the existed power grid,reducing the requests for power of energy storages and then the stability of the grid would be improved
