Abstract: This study sought to investigate the effect of IT employees' engagement on organizational performance through the mediating role of job satisfaction for IT employees within the IT Departments in Jordanian banking sector. Quantitative research design and regression analysis were applied on a total of 429 valid returns that were obtained in a questionnaire based survey. The results showed that IT employee engagement significantly affected organizational performance and three of its dimensions, vigor, absorption, and dedication contributed significantly to organizational performance. The results also showed that IT employee engagement positively and significantly affected job satisfaction, where vigor had the most contribution. In addition, it was found that job satisfaction significantly and positively affected organizational performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction only partially mediated the association between IT employee engagement and organizational performance. This study implies that IT departments in Jordanian banking should try their best to promote and facilitate IT employees' engagement and satisfaction in an effort to improve their performance, which will eventually yield positive results for the bank as a whole. In light of these results, the research presented many recommendations for future research, the most important ones were the application of this study in other sectors, cultures, and countries, the exploration of the moderating role of job satisfaction instead of mediating role, and the use of other sampling techniques.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors take into consideration Transformational Leadership (TFL) as a probable mediator in the role CSR plays to enhance the firm performance among Information Technology (IT) employees in banking sector.
Abstract: Direct relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and firm performance has been extensively studied by scholars in several majors. The direct examination of this relationship seems to be relatively imprecise since many other variables have indirect influence on this relationship. Therefore, this study takes into considerations Transformational Leadership (TFL) as a probable mediator in the role CSR plays to enhance the firm performanceamong Information Technology (IT) employees in banking sector. Data were collected from IT employees within IT departments from 25 banks in Jordan through a questionnaire survey. 354 valid questionnaires were returned and analyzed using different quantitative techniques. This research finds that CSR has a significant influence on firm performance and three of its dimensions, namely, economic responsibility, ethical responsibility, and discretionary responsibility have a significant effect on firm performance, whereas legal responsibility has no remarkable effect. It also finds that CSR has a positive influence on TFL. Specifically, discretionary responsibility has a significant effect on TFL, whereas other dimensions have no significant contribution to TFL. As well as, it finds that TFL has a positive contribution to the firm performance. Inspirational motivation and individualized consideration have the only remarkable contribution to the firm performance. Finally, it has been revealed that TFL partially mediates the relationship between CSR and firm performance.

TL;DR: An overview of the requirement process and requirement prioritization concept is given and a general model is proposed based on reviewing the prioritization techniques in order to suggests a best suited technique for specific projects according to decision makers parameters.
Abstract: Requirements prioritization is considered as one of the most important approaches in the requirement engineering process. Requirements prioritization is used to define the ordering or schedule for executing requirement based on their priority or importance with respect to stakeholders’ viewpoints. Many prioritization techniques for requirement have been proposed by researchers, and there is no single technique can be used for all projects types. In this paper we give an overview of the requirement process and requirement prioritization concept. We also present the most popular techniques used to prioritize the software project requirements and a compression between these techniques. On the other hand, we spot the light on the importance of involving the non-functional requirements prioritization because of the great effects of non-functional on project success and quality; some approaches that used in prioritize non-functional requirements are discussed in this paper, in addition a general model is proposed based on reviewing the prioritization techniques in order to suggests a best suited technique for specific projects according to decision makers parameters.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of transformational leadership on entrepreneurial orientation in Jordanian commercial banks, and whether organizational learning capability mediates with transformational leaders on entrepreneurial orientations.
Abstract: This study aims to investigate the effect of transformational leadership on entrepreneurial orientation in Jordanian commercial banks, and whether organizational learning capability mediates the effect of transformational leadership on entrepreneurial orientation. Adopting a quantitative research design, data were collected by means of a questionnaire-based survey of employees in Jordanian commercial banks. Based on 330 usable responses, the results revealed the significant effect of transformational leadership and two of its dimensions (inspirational motivation and intellectual stimulation) on entrepreneurial orientation. Two other dimensions (idealized influence and individualized consideration) did not contribute to entrepreneurial orientation. Additionally, the results showed that transformational leadership has a significant effect on organizational learning capability, and that organizational learning capability in turn affects entrepreneurial orientation. The findings confirm that organizational learning capability fully mediates the effect of transformational leadership on entrepreneurial orientation. A number of recommendations are advanced, the most important of which is that banks should improve and develop managers’ transformational attributes by training them on how to deal with employees in order to increase their entrepreneurial orientation. Banks should also consider improving their learning capability, as this plays a significant role in enhancing and supporting the effect of transformational leadership attributes on entrepreneurial orientation.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the factors that affecting GRDP at constant prices, namely population, original local government revenue, government expenditure, domestic investment, and the total manpower using the spatial panel data model with the quasi-maximum likelihood estimation method.
Abstract: Each region in Indonesia has diverse economic growth. Various empirical studies focus on this problem and attempt to identify the factors that affecting Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at constant prices or economic growth. However, the research on GRDP at constant prices or economic growth is not solely enough on observation units in a certain time (cross-section); these units also need to be observed in several periods of time. Moreover, the existence of spatial dependencies, which usually occur on the objects observed in form of regions or locations, causes estimation with OLS generating biased and inconsistent results. This study aims to analyze the factors that affecting GRDP at constant prices, namely population, original local government revenue, government expenditure, domestic investment, foreign investment, and the total manpower using the spatial panel data model with the quasi-maximum likelihood estimation method. This study is a quantitative study with panel data of 33 provinces in Indonesia during 2010-2016 periods. The best model obtained from these data was the Spatial Lag Fixed Effect Model with five independent variables. The referred variables are the number of populations, original local government revenue, government expenditure, domestic investment, and foreign investment which have a positive and also significant influence on GRDP at constant prices of provinces in Indonesia, while the total manpower do not have significant influence.

Abstract: This study benchmarks the implementation levels and performance outcomes of lean bundles of a Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturing company with the results of the Operational Excellence (OPEX) model. The OPEX model is an ongoing international research project in the pharmaceutical industry. The results of the OPEX project were obtained, along with permission to use them in the present study. The same question items used in the OPEX project were used to prepare a questionnaire to collect data from the Jordanian pharmaceutical company. Fifteen managers from the Jordanian company with responsibilities related to lean management completed the questionnaire. The results demonstrated that the implementation levels of lean practices and the lean performance outcomes of the Jordanian pharmaceutical company varied in comparison to the OPEX project. The overall assessment showed that the Jordanian company is excellent in the total quality management bundle (at or above the levels of the benchmarked data), good in the human resource bundle (almost at the levels of the benchmarked data), acceptable in the just-in-time bundle (below the levels of the benchmarked data), and weak in the total preventive maintenance bundle (considerably below the levels of the benchmarked data). There are few benchmarking studies in the pharmaceutical industry in the area of lean management. In particular, this area is under-investigated in the developing world. The current study provides insights into the value of benchmarking key lean metrics against leading companies. This approach is expected to support pharmaceutical industry managers in the developing world to evaluate their current lean state, estimate the desired state based on the benchmarking results, and set appropriate strategies to promote lean management and operational excellence in their companies.

TL;DR: In this article, a qualitative phenomenological focus group interviews with 40 citizens who utilize e-Government was conducted to understand how this technology influences outcomes with regard to participation and engagement with government.
Abstract: Supporters of e-Government believe that this technology will be a panacea for enhancing the engagement and participation of citizens in politics and government. However, there is little empirical support for this assertion. Due to the rapid proliferation of e-Government in Jordan there is an impetus to determine how e-Government impacts citizen participation and engagement in politics and government within the country. Using qualitative phenomenological focus group interviews with 40 citizens who utilize e-Government, an effort was made to understand how this technology influences outcomes with regard to participation and engagement with government. The results indicate that those using e-Government were politically active before using the technology and have extensive experience with technology use. E-Government for the politically active serves to extend participation in the process. For individuals that lack technological savvy and/or are not politically active, e-Government alone may not be enough to increase citizen engagement and participation in politics and government.
