Abstract: Spin-orbit optical phenomena pertain to the wider class of electromagnetic effects originating from the in-teraction of the photon spin with the spatial structure and propagation characteristics of an optical wave, mediated by suitable optical media. There are many emerging photonic applications of spin-orbit interactions (SOI) of light, such as control of the optical wave propagation via the spin, enhanced optical manipulation, and generation of structured optical fields. Unfortunately, current applications are based on symmetric SOI, that is, the behaviours of polarized photons with two opposite spins are opposite, leading to the limit of spin-based multiplexers. The symmetry of SOI can be broken in our proposed metasurfaces, consisting of spatially varying birefringence, which can arbitrarily and independently build SOI for two opposite spins without reduction of optical energy usage. We obtain three kinds of dual-functional metasurfaces at visible and infrared wavelengths with high efficiency. Our concept of generation of asymmetric SOI for two spins, using anisotropic metasurfaces, will open new degrees of freedoms for building new types of spin-controlled multifunctional shared-aperture devices for the generation of complex structured optical fields.

Abstract: The focal point in image measurement is how to carry out focusing effectively and quickly. An image type automatic focusing system is proposed on the basis of optical lens and CCD image collecting techniques. The sum of the gray scale differential absolute values of an image is used as the criterion function whether the image is focused. The hill-climbing automatic focusing principle with successive approximation is also given. The experiments are carried out with the system and its repeated accuracy is 8000nm.

Abstract: An adaptive image denoising model based on Total Variation (TV) is proposed by analyzing the three important denoising models: harmonical model, TV model and generalized TV model, in the variational image restoration. Firstly, the convolution of the Gaussian filter and the noisy image can remove a small portion of the noise so it is less likely to be detected as an edge, and then we can adaptively select the most appropriate denoising scheme based on the gradient information of each pixel. Numerical experiments show that the proposed method can remove the noise while preserving significant image details. At high noise level,the method achieves at least 1.0dB gain over other variational denoising methods for Peak Signal-Noise Ratio (PSNR) measurement.

Abstract: Positions impacting on a virtual plane on trajectory,flying velocity,and the flying direction angle of velocity,which are the parameters of flying projectiles in ballistic trajectory,must be measured in ranger. Because of drawback of four-screen measuring system and two-screen velocity measuring method,an improved six-light-screen array is presented that is composed of six large area light screens. The six-light-screen array presented at the first time can be shaped by changing a position of one light screen in the present basic six-light-screen array. Two kinds of arrays can measure synchronously all above parameters of flying projectiles. They are basic arrays and other different arrays can be obtained by rotating and shifting the different light screens. The principle of measurement is described in the paper. And the derived process of measurement formula is given in detail. The presented six-light-screen array can be used as a sensor in automatic target-reading systems.

Abstract: As the optimal operator of edge detection,classical Canny operator has the limits in linear filtering and threshold choosing On the basis of it,an adaptive Gaussian filter with scale adjustable was adopted in filtering By computing the average of all intensity values in current filter window and the difference between the average and the intensity value of the current pixel,the smooth degree of current filter window was obtained And then,by regarding the smooth degree as the scale size of Gaussian function,the noises of images could be filtered while the edges couldn’t be smoothed At the same time,an adaptive double-threshold selection method was used based on the grads threshold method and simple statistic method to detect edges of Non-Maxima Suppressed grads image Experiments prove that the method can filter noise effectively; also the distilled fake edges and lost edges are fewer than those of classical Canny operator
