Ion transport and structure in chalcogenide glasses

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of the macroscopic structure in the electrical properties of chalcogenide glasses has been investigated and the results showed that the glasses from the limiting composition ranges are homogeneous while the glasses belonging to the central region are phase separated into two compounds with compositions close to GeS2 and Li2SiS3.

Preparation of controllable core-shell gold nanoparticles and its application in detection of silver ions.

TL;DR: The core-shell nanoparticles produced by this technique can be used as nanosensors to detect Ag(+) in aqueous media with high selectivity and sensitivity and the evaluation indicates that gold nanorods offer higher sensitivity than gold nanospheres.

Universal trend of the Haven ratio in glasses: origin and structural evidences from neutron diffraction and small-angle neutron scattering

TL;DR: In this article, the Haven ratio in oxide and chalcogenide glassy systems exhibits a universal trend as a function of the mobile ion content x. The ion transport in extremely dilute glasses (x=30-100 ppm M+) is uncorrelated (HR≈1), but HR decreases rapidly with increasing x and remains nearly constant (HR=0.2-0.4) at x ⩾ 10 at.% Ag.

XPS valence band spectra and theoretical calculations for investigations on thiogermanate and thiosilicate glasses

TL;DR: In this article, XPS valence band spectra and theoretical calculations (FLAPW method) were used to investigate thiogermanate and thiosilicate crystals and glasses.

Electrical conductivity studies in (Ag3AsS3)x(As2S3)1−x superionic glasses and composites

TL;DR: In this paper, compositional, frequency, and temperature studies of impedance and electrical conductivity in (Ag3AsS3)x(As2S31−x superionic glasses and composites were performed.

Glass formation and short-range order in chalcogenide materials: The (Ag2S)x(As2S3)1-x (0 <= x <= 1) pseudobinary tie line.

TL;DR: The onset of ionic conductivity as x is increased and the occurrence of two homogeneous glass-forming regions is therefore associated with a change in the coordination environment of the metal atom.

Comparative EXAFS study of (Ag2X)y(As2X3)1−y glasses (X = Se or S)

TL;DR: The local order of ionic (Ag2X)y(As2X3)1−y glasses (X = Se or S) has been studied in a wide composition range using X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy as mentioned in this paper.

Structural study of GeS2−Ag2S glassy system by silver K-edge EXAFS experiments made at room and low temperature

TL;DR: In this article, the silver environments in (1−y)GeS 2 + yAg 2 S (0 2 S and Ag 8 GeS 6 ) phases were studied and the comparison between glassy and crystalline silver sites have allowed the silver surroundings in these glasses and to suggest a hypothesis of their structure.
