13C- and 23Na-NMR investigations on alkali cellulose

TLDR
In this article, solid state 23Na- and 13C-NMR spectra of alkali cellulose are presented as a function of NaOH-concentration of the steeping lye, steeping temperature and amount of adhering lye (press factor).
Abstract
Solid state 23Na- and 13C-NMR spectra of alkali cellulose are presented as a function of NaOH-concentration of the steeping lye, steeping temperature and amount of adhering lye (press factor). Results are discussed with regard to “chemical binding” of NaOH to the cellulose chain in the system cellulose/ NaOH/H2O.

Quantitative analysis of the transformation process of cellulose I → cellulose II using NIR FT Raman spectroscopy and chemometric methods

TL;DR: In this paper, a new, successful, utilization of NIR FT Raman spectroscopy for determinining the polymorphic transformation of native cellulose I into the allomorph cellulose II quantitatively was reported.

Crystal transition from Na–cellulose IV to cellulose II monitored using synchrotron X-ray diffraction

TL;DR: The transition mechanism from Na–cellulose IV to cellulose II can be understood as crystalline lattice contraction of Na–cellsulinose IV along the a -axis direction while maintaining its hydrophobic stacking sheet structure.

Determination of intramolecular hydrogen bonds and selective coordination of sodium cation in alkalicellulose by CP/MASS 13C NMR.

TL;DR: Alkalicellulose, prepared from wood pulp, was analyzed using CP/MASS 13C NMR as mentioned in this paper, and a sodium ion was found to selectively coordinate to the hydroxyl oxygen at the C2 position of the glucose unit.

A cross-polarisation-magic-angle spinning 13C-n.m.r. study of solid-state cycloamylose inclusion-complexes with substituted benzenes: 13C-chemical shifts and molecular dynamics of the included guests

TL;DR: In this paper, the chemical shifts and line-shapes of cross-polarisation-magic-angle sample spinning 13 C-n.m.r. resonances have been analyzed for p -nitrophenol, p -hydroxybenzoic acid, benzoic acids, and m-nitrophensol in solid state and likewise for inclusion complexes with host cyclomalto-hexaose and -heptaose.
