A Comparative Analysis of OSN and SIoT Trust Models for a trust model adapted to MOOCs platforms

Abstract
There is no doubt that the major concerns of MOOCs platforms are to enhance the quality of learners' interactions for a meaningful collaboration and effective engagement. In fact, in MOOCs learners are stimulated to be in touch with their Online Social Networks (OSN) and various smart devices to share opinions and resources in attention to achieve their goals learning. Whereas they have a partial knowledge of their environment which can expose them on many trust issues and make them avoid interactions among their peers. To reduce this problem, it's strongly recommended designing a trust model which allows them to assess a level of trust of each other for choosing the most trusted peer who has a commitment to cooperate and offering a certain service or competence. In this work we provide a comparative study of some relevant trust models belonging to two different ecosystems namely OSN and Social Internet of Thing (SIoT), in order to analyze their methods and techniques used on evaluating trust among entities. This study helps us achieve the following goals: i) better understanding these trust models and comprehending how to calculate trust among system nodes ii) identifying the mains components and ingredients required for an accurate and dynamic trust model. iii) Being able to define the set of parameters and criteria which have to be taken into account when developing the future trust model tailored to MOOCs platforms.
