TLDR
In this article, a control operator associated with optimal control problems was constructed and an extended conjugate gradient method algorithm for solving this family of problems was proposed. And the establishment of some functional inequalities which were obtained using the knowledge of the control operator was discussed.

A penalty optimization technique for a class of regulator problems, part 3

TL;DR: There is a noticeable improvement in the accuracy of the solutions obtained through the ECGM algorithm over those obtained via the averaging approximation principles developed by Banks and Burns (Ref. 3).

Control Operator for the Two-Dimensional Energized Wave Equation

TL;DR: Waziri et al. as mentioned in this paper studied the analytical model for the construction of the two-dimensional Energized wave equation, where the control operator is given in terms of space and time t independent variables.

On Quasi-Newton Method for Solving Unconstrained Optimization Problems

TL;DR: The Quasi-Newton method algorithm was tested on some benced mark problems with the results compared with the Conjugate Gradient Method as mentioned in this paper and the results obtained using the QuasiNewton Method compared favourably with results of existing CGM algorithm.

Analytic and Numeric Solutions of Discretized Constrained Optimal Control Problem with Vector and Matrix Coefficients

TL;DR: In this paper, the analytic and numeric solutions of general continuous linear quadratic optimal control problem are presented and the associated general Riccati differential equation is solved by numerical-analytical approach using variational iteration method.

Optimal control of the wave propagation problem with the Extended Conjugate Gradient Method

TL;DR: An optimal control problem subject to the wave propagation equation is solved, employing the Extended Conjugate Gradient Method (ECGM) and new optimal state and control solutions were obtained with their surface plots.

Methods of Conjugate Gradients for Solving Linear Systems

TL;DR: An iterative algorithm is given for solving a system Ax=k of n linear equations in n unknowns and it is shown that this method is a special case of a very general method which also includes Gaussian elimination.

The conjugate gradient method for optimal control problems

TL;DR: In this article, the authors extended the conjugate gradient minimization method of Fletcher and Reeves to optimal control problems, which is directly applicable only to unconstrained problems; if terminal conditions and inequality constraints are present, the problem must be converted to a non-constrained form; e.g., by penalty functions.
