Natural products drug discovery research in India: status and appraisal.

TL;DR: This review focuses on the contributions made from India in the drug discovery and development process and provides future directions in the area.
Journal ArticleDOI

Root flavonoids

TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive list of root flavonoids and their functional diversity has been discussed and an exhaustive list of importance in relation to these properties has been compiled, including safe and specific chemicals against root pests; chemicals regulating root growth and mineral nutrition; plant varieties resistant to root pests and adverse allelopathic effects; an improved nitrogen economy in agroecosystems; desirable varieties of medicinal plants, in whose roots flavonoid are the active principles.

Role of Natural Products in Drug Discovery Process

TL;DR: Recent advances in genomics and structural biology during the past decades are painting a clearer picture of the diversity of proteins targeted by natural-product molecules, leading to a renewed interest in natural products in drug discovery.
Journal ArticleDOI

The major flavonoids of the seed of Tephrosia apollinea

TL;DR: Six complex 7-oxygenated-8-prenylflavones have been isolated from the seeds of Tephrosia apollinea and identified as the diastereoisomers and the use of 13C NMR in the structure elucidation of flavones of this type is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dimethylchromene rotenoids from Tephrosia candida

TL;DR: In this article, the possibility of linear or angular rotenoids is discussed on the basis of HMBC experiments, however the linear are restricted, and to the best of our knowledge only two linear dimethylchromene rotenoid are described in the literature.
