TLDR
Recalculation of results presented by other investigators for maize plants grown in soil with various levels of moisture, phosphorus and iron showed a highly significant linear relationship between the active iron fraction and the ratio of total phosphorus to total iron.

The Effect of Iron on the Primary Root Elongation of Arabidopsis during Phosphate Deficiency

TL;DR: Evidence is presented suggesting that manipulating Fe availability to a plant could be a valuable strategy for improving a plant's ability to tolerate P deficiency.
Journal ArticleDOI

Physiological and transcriptome analysis of iron and phosphorus interaction in rice seedlings.

TL;DR: Evidence is provided that the presence of P can affect Fe availability and in turn can influence the regulation of Fe-responsive genes.

Environmental and Soil Factors Affecting Micronutrient Deficiencies and Toxicities

TL;DR: The role of the environment on micronutrient nutrition is discussed in this paper. But the authors focus on the role of soil properties such as pH, redox potential, organic matter content, nutrient interactions, the type of plant or variety, and environmental factors, such as soil water content, temperature and light, greatly influence the likelihood that a plant will exhibit micRONutrient deficiency or toxicity symptoms.

Integration of P, S, Fe, and Zn nutrition signals in Arabidopsis thaliana: potential involvement of PHOSPHATE STARVATION RESPONSE 1 (PHR1)

TL;DR: A MYB-like transcription factor emerges as a common regulator of phosphate, sulfate, zinc, and iron homeostasis, and its role as a potential general integrator for the control of mineral nutrition is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Arabidopsis FERRITIN 1 (AtFer1) gene regulation by the PHOSPHATE STARVATION RESPONSE 1 (AtPHR1) transcription factor reveals a direct molecular link between iron and phosphate homeostasis

TL;DR: Histochemical localization of iron, visualized by Perls DAB staining, was strongly altered in a phr1 phl1 mutant, revealing that both PHR1 and PHL1 are major factors involved in the regulation of iron homeostasis.

Quantitative relation between chlorophyll and iron in green and chlorotic pear leaves

TL;DR: No positive correlation could be observed between the iron content and the amount of chlorophyll of leaves obtained from chlorotic trees, although iron was the limiting factor in these leaves in so far as chlorophyLL formation was concerned.

The interrelationships of iron and potassium in the potato plant

TL;DR: In a more detailed study of the significance of these interrelationships in the potato and to find how these relationships were affected by the presence of calcium carbonate and varying levels of phosphate supply, it was concluded as a result of as mentioned in this paper that the ameliorative effect of potassium on iron deficiency chlmosis might be explained in terms of its depressive effect on phosphorus concentration which increased the availability of the iron present in the lamina.

The treatment of iron deficiency.

TL;DR: The effective therapeutic amounts of ferrous sulphate, and iron and ammonium citrate are shown in Table i and these two compounds remain today perfectly satisfactory in the treatment of iron deficiency.
