TLDR
In this article, the limits of electron transfer from the oxide surface to the acceptor in electron affinity were reported and the electron acceptors with electron affinity from 1.26 to 2.84 eV on two metal oxides have been studied.

Detection and Measurement of Surface Electron Transfer on Reduced Molybdenum Oxides (MoOx) and Catalytic Activities of Au/MoOx

TL;DR: The sensing of electrons confined inside surface defect sites has been demonstrated and electron transfer deposits negative charge on closely contacted gold nanoparticles on the surface, which explains the high catalytic activity in the aerobic oxidation of alcohols.
Journal ArticleDOI

High Catalytic Efficiency of Nanostructured Molybdenum Trioxide in the Benzylation of Arenes and an Investigation of the Reaction Mechanism

TL;DR: The nanostructured MoO(3) catalyst exhibited high efficiency in catalyzing the benzylation of various arenes with substituted benzyl alcohols, which were strikingly different to common bulk MoO (3), and represents a successful example of combining a heterogeneous catalysis study with nanomaterial synthesis.

A heterostructured TiO2–C3N4 support for gold catalysts: a superior preferential oxidation of CO in the presence of H2 under visible light irradiation and without visible light irradiation

TL;DR: In this paper, a supported gold catalyst on TiO2-C3N4 nano-hetero-architecture has been used for CO preferential oxidation in the presence of H2, and the results of ex situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), redox couple mode (TCNE/TCNE−) testing, transient photocurrent and Fourier transform-infrared spectra (FT-IR) are presented.

Insight into the function of alkaline earth metal oxides as electron promoters for Au/TiO2 catalysts used in CO oxidation

TL;DR: In this paper, the role of the electron promoters in the thermocatalytic reactions was investigated and it was shown that AEMO may act as an electron promoter for CO oxidation, but not as an exclusive structural promoter as widely regarded.

Palladium nanoparticles supported on CNT functionalized by rare-earth oxides for solvent-free aerobic oxidation of benzyl alcohol

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of rare-earth oxide functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were prepared through wet impregnation process, and Palladium nanoparticles were deposited over surfaces of functionalized CNTs through metal ion adsorption-reduction method and were examined using X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, in situ adsorbed pyridine Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and electrochemical measurements.

A Text-Book of Practical Organic Chemistry

J. W. Cook
- 01 Jun 1948 -
TL;DR: A text-book of Practical Organic Chemistry including Qualitative Organic Analysis by Dr Arthur I Vogel as mentioned in this paper, intended as a comprehensive laboratory manual for students of organic chemistry, gives a full and valuable description of organic chemical technique, details of preparation of more than six hundred compounds, and a scheme of qualitative organic analysis.
