An algorithm for the analysis of multiplicity measurements
TLDR
In this paper, an algorithm to extract the multiplicity and the higher moments of a multiplicity distribution from the measured counting rates of multiple coincidences is described, which results in a well converging procedure to obtain the moments.Abstract:
An algorithm to extract the multiplicity and the higher moments of a multiplicity distribution from the measured counting rates of multiple coincidences is described. In the statistical averaging process a direct transformation to the central moments is performed which results in a well converging procedure to obtain the moments. Important aspects of error analysis and of numerics are outlined. The generality of the formalism allows applications beyond nuclear physics. Guidelines for optimizing an experimental set-up are given.read more

High-spin phenomena in atomic-nuclei
TL;DR: In this paper, a description of high-spin phenomena in atomic nuclei is presented from both the experimental and theoretical points of view, and the characteristic features of collective nuclear motion, such as rotational bands, band crossings, and backbending, as well as noncollective aspects, like high spin isomers and irregular decay patterns are discussed in detail.

On the formalism of multiplicity measurements
TL;DR: In this article, the formalism applying to γ-multiplicity experiments is generalized to a system of detectors of not necessarily equal effeciencies, allowing in a straightforward way an approximate inclusion of angular correlation effects.

TL;DR: The moments of the γ-ray multiplicity distributions as a function of evaporation residue and of E γ have been determined from γmultiplicity measurements for the 116, 120, 122, 124 Sn(40 Ar, x n) reactions at 161 ≦ E (Ar) ≦ 236 MeV and for the 76 Ge( 86 Kr, X n) reaction at 314 ≦E (Kr) = 376 MeV as mentioned in this paper.

The shape of the multiplicity distribution and the low-fold coincidence probabilities
TL;DR: In this paper, the shape parameters of the multiplicity distribution are obtained from the experimentalk-fold coincidence probabilities, which is a non-linear method that converges much faster than the methods proposed up till now in the literature.
