TLDR
This paper developed a multinomial logit model of farmer's choice of crops and found that both temperature and precipitation affect the crops that South American farmers choose, and that farmers in wetter locations are more likely to grow rice, fruits, potatoes, and squash and in dryer locations maize and wheat.

The Impact of Climate Change on Agriculture in Developing Countries

TL;DR: The largest known economic impact of climate change on agriculture is upon agriculture because of the size and sensitivity of the sector as mentioned in this paper, and it is the case that many farms in the low latitudes already endure climates that are too hot.
Journal ArticleDOI

The impact of climate change on China's agriculture.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of temperature and precipitation on net crop revenues were analyzed using cross-sectional data consisting of both rainfed and irrigated farms, and the results suggest that global warming is likely to be harmful to rainfed farms but beneficial to irrigated ones.
Journal ArticleDOI

How Can African Agriculture Adapt to Climate Change?: A Counterfactual Analysis from Ethiopia

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of different adaptation strategies on crop net revenues in the Nile Basin of Ethiopia was analyzed and the authors found that adaptation to climate change based upon a portfolio of strategies significantly increases farm net revenues.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improvements in crop water productivity increase water sustainability and food security—a global analysis

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined global patterns of water productivity and found that 40% of water consumption goes to production of just 20% of food calories on precipitation-limited croplands.
Journal ArticleDOI

Understanding farmers’ adaptation intention to climate change: A structural equation modelling study in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam

TL;DR: In this article, the adaptation intention of rice farmers in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam was investigated using structural equation modeling and protection motivation theory, and the authors found that farmers are more likely to have an adaptation intention when they perceive higher risks of climate change and greater effectiveness of adaptive measures.

Climate change 2007: the physical science basis

TL;DR: The first volume of the IPCC's Fourth Assessment Report as mentioned in this paper was published in 2007 and covers several topics including the extensive range of observations now available for the atmosphere and surface, changes in sea level, assesses the paleoclimatic perspective, climate change causes both natural and anthropogenic, and climate models for projections of global climate.

Climate Change 2001: Impacts, Adaptation, and Vulnerability

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors set the stage for impact, adaptation, and vulnerability assessment of climate change in the context of sustainable development and equity, and developed and applied scenarios in Climate Change Impact, Adaptation, and Vulnerability Assessment.
