TLDR
In this paper, an analysis of combined forced and free convection heat transfer of a quasi-incompressible fluid flowing laminarly in a horizontal tube is presented, where the physical properties are assumed to be independent of temperature and the heat flux imposed at the tube wall is considered to be uniform along the tube and around the circumference.

Laminar, mixed convection heat transfer for flow between horizontal parallel plates with asymmetric heating

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental study has been conducted to determine hydrodynamic and thermal conditions in laminar water flow between horizontal parallel plates with uniform, asymmetric heat fluxes.

Experimental study on the effect of heat transfer enhancement devices in flat-plate solar collectors

TL;DR: In this article, the impact of heat enhancement devices on the thermal performance of a flat-plate solar collector was investigated and it was concluded that the applied passive methods based on the enhancement of shear-produced turbulence are ineffective in augmenting heat transfer to the collector fluid in flatplate solar collectors.

Experimental investigation of combined forced and free convection in horizontal and inclined tubes

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of free convection on the laminar flow of water through a circular duct having essentially constant wall heat transfer rate per unit length of the duct and circumferentially uniform wall temperature were investigated.

Single-Phase Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop of the Cooling of Water inside Smooth Tubes for Transitional Flow with Different Inlet Geometries (RP-1280)

TL;DR: In this article, the transition from laminar to turbulent flow was strongly dependent on the inlet profile, with transition being delayed to Reynolds numbers as high as 12,000, confirming results of previous studies.

Forced convective heat transfer in uniformly heated horizontal tubes 1st report—Experimental study on the effect of buoyancy

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of buoyancy on forced convective heat transfer in a horizontal straight tube has been investigated by means of accurate experiments on the fully developed flow of air in a uniformly heated horizontal tube.

Forced convective heat transfer in uniformly heated horizontal tubes (2nd report, theoretical study)

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of buoyancy force on forced laminar convective heat transfer in a uniformly heated horizontal tube may not be neglected at large Re Ra and an approximate solution for very large ReRa is obtained.
