TLDR
In this paper, an empirically derived relationship between the chemical composition of a carbonate in the CaCO3-(Ca, Mg)(CO3)2-FeCO3 system and the function 103 In α at 100°C is 103 ∆ α = 8.94XCaCO3 + 9.29XMgCO3+ 8.77XFeCo3 where Xi is the mole percent of component i in the carbonate.About:

A cold supergene zinc deposit in Alaska: The Reef Ridge case
TL;DR: The Reef Ridge mine is a typical supergene nonsulfide zinc mineralization, located in the Yukon-Koyukuk region of west-central Alaska (USA) as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
New CO isotopic data on supergene minerals from the Skorpion and Rosh Pinah ore deposits (Namibia): Genetic and paleoclimatic constraints
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the deep oxidation process that occurred at Skorpion with the limited weathering of the Rosh Pinah deposit by studying the carbon and oxygen isotope ratios of supergene carbonates minerals.

Marine snow and epipelagic suspensoids in the Reda carbonates and a pronounced mid-Ludfordian (Silurian) CIE in the axis of the Baltic Basin (Poland)
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reconstruct the sedimentary environments and the palaeoredox conditions in the axial part of the Baltic-Podolian Basin during the Lau/kozlowskii extinction event.

From slab to sinter : the magmatic-hydrothermal system of Savo Volcano, Solomon Islands
TL;DR: In this article, a recently active volcano in the Solomon Islands, Savo Island, is dominated by alkaline, sodic (≤7.5 wt % Na2O) lavas and pyroclastic deposits and has an active hydrothermal system with hot springs and fumaroles.

Multisourced CO2 Injection in Fan Delta Conglomerates and Its Influence on Reservoir Quality: Evidence from Carbonate Cements of the Baikouquan Formation of Mahu Sag, Junggar Basin, Northwestern China
TL;DR: In this article, an integrated study applying casting thin sections, cathodeluminescence, fluorescence, carbon and oxygen stable isotopes, electronic probe microanalysis and aqueous fluid inclusions measurements was performed in order to identify the types of carbonate mineral and its representative diagenetic environment and discuss the influences of different CO2 injections on reservoir quality.

Isotopic standards for carbon and oxygen and correction factors for mass-spectrometric analysis of carbon dioxide
TL;DR: In this paper, Niee's and Solenhofen standards were compared to the Chicago PDB standard for carbon and oxygen isotope ratios, and the correction factors for instrumental effects and for the nature of the mass spectra were derived.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the Isotopic Chemistry of Carbonates and a Paleotemperature Scale
TL;DR: In this paper, the temperature variation of the fractionation of oxygen in exchange reactions between dissolved carbonate and water and between calcite and water was calculated on theoretical grounds, and checked experimentally.
Journal ArticleDOI
The use of bromine pentafluoride in the extraction of oxygen from oxides and silicates for isotopic analysis
TL;DR: In this paper, a technique was developed in which bromine pentafluoride was used as a reagent for quantitative liberation of oxygen from oxides and silicates, and the results of isotopic analyses were compared with measurements made in other laboratories by other procedures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurement of O18O16 ratios of total oxygen of carbonates
TL;DR: The commonly used phosphoric acid procedure for the determination of oxygen isotope abundances in carbonates involves a large kinetic isotope effect as mentioned in this paper, which leads to an overestimate of the dolomite-calcite oxygon isotope fractionation by 0.8 per mil.
