Analysis of the defocused Gaussian beam telescope on Cassegrain feeds

TLDR
Defocused Gaussian beam telescope geometry and its tolerance with the changes in the values of their lenses and focalization distances are analyzed in this paper, which is very useful in systems that must operate over broad bandwidths.
Abstract
Defocused Gaussian beam telescope geometry and its tolerance with the changes in the values of their lenses and focalization distances are analyzed. The Gaussian beam telescope is very useful in systems that must operate over broad bandwidths. This device has particularly functional properties in Cassegrain radiotelescope feed systems. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 32: 420–423, 2002.

Beam Mode Expansion of Corrugated Conical Horns with Phase Correcting Lens: Application to Radioastronomy Receivers

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a quasi-optical model for a corrugated conical horn with a phase-correcting lens, which is used to correct the phase error on the horn aperture.

Beam mode expansion applied to horn system with meniscus lens: new application to radioastronomy receivers

TL;DR: In this paper, a profile lens is designed to correct phase error at the horn aperture, and a quasi-optical model of horn plus lens system using beam mode expansion (BME) has been developed.

Convergence of Gaussian‐beam modes in corrugated conical horns

TL;DR: In this paper, the SI analysis of high-speed digital systems has been systematically performed using the full-wave electromagnetic analysis method, and the results show that high speed digital signals at 500 M/bs can be smoothly transmitted in the designed long interconnects on the backplane.

Quasi-optical techniques

TL;DR: The basic theory of quasi-optical Gaussian beam propagation and beam transformation by simple optical elements is summarized, and coupling to and between Gaussian beams is briefly discussed Guidelines for Gaussian optics system design are reviewed, the most important being beam truncation and matching Passive components in the terahertz frequency range based on quasioptical propagation, including polarization processors, filters, diplexers, and ferrite devices, are examined as mentioned in this paper.

Accuracy of a Gaussian beam

TL;DR: In this article, the accuracy of a multimode Gaussian beam is discussed, and modifications are given to the conventional GAussian beam formulation derived using the paraxial approximation, with the modifications, the field can be calculated accurately with the Gaussian beacon.

Truncation in millimeter and submillimeter-wave optical systems

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a technique for determining the power that is lost when the field in a beam waveguide is truncated by an axially-symmetric stop, based on the principles of multimode Gaussian optics.
