TLDR
In this article, the authors investigate trends in maximum (T max ) and minimum (T min ) air temperatures in the annual, seasonal and monthly time-scales for 19 synoptic stations in the arid and semi-arid regions of Iran during 1966-2005.

Analysis of changes in meteorological variables using Mann-Kendall and Sen's slope estimator statistical tests in Serbia

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the annual and seasonal trends of seven meteorological variables for twelve weather stations in Serbia during 1980-2010 and used the nonparametric Mann-Kendall and Sen's methods to determine whether there was a positive or negative trend in weather data with their statistical significance.

Variability and time series trend analysis of rainfall and temperature in northcentral Ethiopia: A case study in Woleka sub-basin

TL;DR: In this paper, a trend analysis has been employed to inspect the change of rainfall and temperature in northcentral Ethiopia using gridded monthly precipitation data obtained from Global Precipitation and Climate Centre (GPCC V7) and temperature data from Climate Research Unit (CRU TS 3.23) with 0.5° by 0.1° resolution from 1901 to 2014.

Spatial and temporal trends of mean and extreme rainfall and temperature for the 33 urban centers of the arid and semi-arid state of Rajasthan, India

TL;DR: In this article, a trend analysis of the mean and extreme annual daily rainfall and temperature at the spatial and temporal scales was carried out for all the 33 urban centers of the arid and semi-arid state of Rajasthan, India.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatiotemporal trends and change point of precipitation in Iran

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the spatial and temporal trends of precipitation data from 28 synoptic stations of Iran (1967-2006) and determined the approximate year of the beginning of the significant trends by using the Mann-Kendall and Mann-kendall rank statistic tests, respectively, and obtained the magnitude of precipitation trends from the Theil-Sen's slope estimator.

Temporal trends and spatial characteristics of drought and rainfall in arid and semiarid regions of Iran

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the rainfall and drought severity time series at 10 stations in the eastern half of Iran for the period 1966-2005 and computed the severity using the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) for a 12-month timescale.

Estimates of the Regression Coefficient Based on Kendall's Tau

TL;DR: In this article, a simple and robust estimator of regression coefficient β based on Kendall's rank correlation tau is studied, where the point estimator is the median of the set of slopes (Yj - Yi )/(tj-ti ) joining pairs of points with ti ≠ ti.

Statistical Methods for Environmental Pollution Monitoring

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed three-stage sampling: simple random sampling, two stage sampling and three stage sampling, and two-stage and double sampling, respectively, to estimate the mean and variance from censored data sets.

Trend analysis in Turkish precipitation data

TL;DR: In this article, a trend analysis of the long-term annual mean and monthly total precipitation series using non-parametric methods (i.e., the Mann-Kendall and Sen's T tests) is presented.

Misuses of Statistical Analysis in Climate Research

TL;DR: The history of misuses of statistics is as long as the history of statistics itself as mentioned in this paper and the following is a personal assessment about such misuses in our field, climate research.
