Abstract
Arabian Plate Sequence Stratigraphy is the first publication to present a modern sequence stratigraphic review of the entire Arabian Plate stratigraphic succession, extending from the Mediterranean to the Gulf of Aden, and from the Red Sea to the Zagros suture. Biostratigraphic, lithostratigraphic, sedimentological, geochemical, oil industry and other data have been reviewed from the literature and re-presented to illustrate the tectonic and stratigraphic evolution of the plate. Key well logs, cross-sections, outcrop photos and other data are presented in full colour to illustrate the location and correlation of maximum flooding surfaces and unconformities. These key stratal surfaces allow an assessment of the geometric relationship between source rocks, reservoirs and seals. The Arabian Plate contains two-thirds of the worlds oil reserves, and produces about one-third of daily world oil production. These figures are likely to rise in the future such that the Arabian Plate approaches 50% of daily world oil production. A modern interpretation of the stratigraphy producing this oil is thus of interest to global geoscience.

Middle Permian (Guadalupian) fusulinid taxonomy and biostratigraphy of the mid-latitude Dalan Basin, Zagros, Iran and their applications in paleoclimate dynamics and paleogeography.

TL;DR: In this article, a model of climatefluctuations and paleogeography in the Neo-Tethys is based on analyses of temporaland spatial distribution of fusulinids.

A punctuated Late Ordovician and early Silurian deglaciation and transgression: Evidence from the subsurface of northern Saudi Arabia

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors highlight the complex interplay of sea-floor topography, ocean currents, sediment supply, and variations in the rate of melting of the ice sheet.

Late Ordovician to early Silurian acritarchs from the Qusaiba-1 shallow core hole, central Saudi Arabia

TL;DR: In the Qusaiba-1 shallow core hole of central Saudi Arabia, a number of well-preserved acritarchs are documented from Upper Ordovician and lower Silurian sections in the Quwarah Member of the Qasim Formation as discussed by the authors.

Late Cenomanian–Early Turonian facies development and sea-level changes in the Bodenwöhrer Senke (Danubian Cretaceous Group, Bavaria, Germany)

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the facies of the Eibrunn and Winzerberg formations of the Bodenwohrer Senke Group of the Danubian Cretaceous Group and showed that the latter was a texturally graded, predominantly siliciclastic, storm-dominated shelf.

Microfacies, diagenesis and oil emplacement of the Upper Jurassic Arab-D carbonate reservoir in an oil field in central Saudi Arabia (Khurais Complex)

TL;DR: In this article, petrographic, cathodoluminescence and ultra-violet light fluorescence microscopy analyses of the Arab-D reservoir in an oil field of Saudi Arabia (Khurais Complex) have been combined with isotope geochemistry (δ13C, δ18O and 87Sr/86Sr) to decipher the sequence of diagenetic events affecting the reservoir before and during oil emplacements, and the impact of depositional mineralogies and their modifications during the diagenesis on the reservoir quality and heterogeneity.
