TLDR
Assessing medical students' confidence to understand and objectively measured ability to interpret basic research concepts can be used to incorporate competency based research material into the existing curriculum.Abstract:
Background: Without systematic exposure to biomedical research concepts or applications, osteopathic medical students may be generally under-prepared to efficiently consume and effectively apply research and evidence-based medicine information in patient care. The academic literature suggests that although medical residents are increasingly expected to conduct research in their post graduate training specialties, they generally have limited understanding of research concepts.read more

The CONSORT statement: revised recommendations for improving the quality of reports of parallel-group randomized trials.
TL;DR: The use of CONSORT does indeed help to improve the quality of reports of RCTs and is enhanced by continuous monitoring of the biomedical literature; this monitoring allows CONSORT to be modified depending on the merits of maintaining or dropping current items and including new items.

The development and validation of the Survey of Attitudes toward Statistics
TL;DR: The Survey of Attitudes Toward Statistics (SATS) as mentioned in this paper was designed for use in both research and instruction, and a panel of instructors and introductory statistics students identified by consensus four facets of attitudes toward statistics: affect-positive and negative feelings concerning statistics; cognitive competence-attitudes about intellectual knowledge and skills when applied to statistics; value-attitude about the usefulness, relevance, and worth of statistics.

Medicine residents' understanding of the biostatistics and results in the medical literature.
TL;DR: Most residents in this study lacked the knowledge in biostatistics needed to interpret many of the results in published clinical research, and residency programs should include more effective biOSTatistics training in their curricula to successfully prepare residents for this important lifelong learning skill.
