Deformation theory of abelian categories
TL;DR: In this article, the basic infinitesimal deformation theory of abelian categories is developed, which yields a natural generalization of the well-known Deformation Theory of algebras developed by Gerstenhaber.
Journal ArticleDOI
Convenient categories of smooth spaces
TL;DR: Baez and Hoffnung as discussed by the authors give a unified treatment of Chen spaces, diffeological spaces, and simplicial complexes, and show that Chen spaces are locally Cartesian closed, with all limits, all colimits, and a weak subobject classifier.

Machines in a category: an expository introduction*
Michael A. Arbib,Ernest G. Manes +1 more
TL;DR: A general definition of machines in an arbitrary category which unifies the theories of sequential machines, linear control systems, tree automata and stochastic automata is presented and a new fundamental realization theorem is proved which shows how to construct a broad variety of machines with prescribed behavior.

The simplicial model of univalent foundations
TL;DR: In this paper, a model of the Univalent Foundations of Mathematics in the category of simplicial sets was constructed and investigated, and it was shown that the Univalence Axiom holds in this model.

Towards a Philosophy of Real Mathematics
TL;DR: In this article, the role of analogy in mathematics is discussed and a role for history is discussed, along with the importance of mathematical conceptualisation and the interpretation of mathematics in higher dimensional algebra.
