Phytochemicals and antimicrobial potentials of mahogany family

TL;DR: Together, new insights of Meliaceae members demonstrating as a potential source as antimicrobial agents using in vitro studies are provided.
Journal ArticleDOI

Innovative Approach to the Accumulation of Rubrosterone by Fermentation of Asparagus filicinus with Fusarium oxysporum.

TL;DR: The results showed that F. oxysporum had the ability to facilitate the complete biotransformation of 20-hydroxyecdysone to rubrosterone by solid-state fermentation, indicating that the present method could be an innovative and efficient approach to accumulate rubrostersone with an outstanding conversion ratio.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical composition and anti-bacterial activity of essential oil from Cedrela sinensis (A. Juss.) Roem. seed

TL;DR: In this article, the chemical compositions and in vitro anti-bacterial activities of seed essential oil from Cedrela sinesis (A. Juss.) Roem were assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toonamicrocarpavarin, a new tirucallane-type triterpenoid from Toona Ciliata.

TL;DR: A new tirucallane-type triterpenoid is isolated from T. ciliata for the first time and its structures were identified on the basis of ESIMS, HREIMS and 1 D/2D NMR analysis.

A generic monograph of the Meliaceae

T.D. Pennington, +1 more
- 01 Jan 1975 -
TL;DR: The Meliaceae family contains a wider range of floral and fruit structures than any comparable group as mentioned in this paper and is among the more useful to man, chiefly for its high quality timbers and for the ease with which some species can be grown in plantations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phenolic antioxidants from Chinese toon (fresh young leaves and shoots of Toona sinensis)

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors showed that the 80% acetone extract of Chinese toon exhibited considerable antioxidant activity in the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryldydrazyl (DPPH) radical-scavenging assay.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evolution of quassinoids and limonoids in the Rutales

TL;DR: Analysis of dynamic parameters in the quassinoid-limonoid group of families in the Rutales indicates that the Simaroubaceae should form the more primitive taxon, split off from the common ancestral lineage before synthesis of the liminoid precursor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Limonoids from Australian members of the meliaceae

TL;DR: The seeds of Owenia acidula of Ovenia venosa were found to contain a simple limonoid and a derivative of the cyclopropane protolimonoid glabretal which has also been found in the timber of Aglaia ferruginea as discussed by the authors.
