A multivariable feedback controller may be synthetised by first designing a set of single-loop controllers for these characteristic systems, and then transforming the results to obtain the required multivariably controller.
Abstract
If a linear time-invariant multiple-input multiple-output plant is represented by a square transfer-function matrix G(s), a spectral analysis may be carried out to determine a set of system characteristic transfer functions. A multivariable feedback controller may then be synthetised by first designing a set of single-loop controllers for these characteristic systems, and then transforming the results to obtain the required multivariable controller.

H∞ Controller design for spectral MIMO models by convex optimization☆

TL;DR: In this paper, a new method for robust H∞ controller design by convex optimization for multivariable systems is investigated, where the diagonal elements of the controller are tuned to satisfy the desired performances, while simultaneously, the off-diagonal elements are designed to decouple the system.

H ∞ controller design for spectral MIMO models by convex optimization

TL;DR: It is shown that the Generalized Nyquist Stability criterion can be approximated by a set of convex constraints with respect to the parameters of a multivariable linearly parameterized controller in the Nyquist diagram.

Triangularization technique for the design of multivariable control systems

TL;DR: In this article, a stable and proper precompensator is determined for a multivariable plant such that the compensated plant transfer function matrix is triangular and diagonally dominant in a nonstandard way.

Computational methods of linear algebra

TL;DR: A survey of computational methods in linear algebra can be found in this article, where the authors discuss the means and methods of estimating the quality of numerical solution of computational problems, the generalized inverse of a matrix, the solution of systems with rectangular and poorly conditioned matrices, and more traditional questions such as algebraic eigenvalue problems and systems with a square matrix.
