Journal ArticleDOI

Enhancement of lipid production from algal biomass through various growth parameters

TL;DR: In this article, growth parameters of two algal consortia S1 and S16 were optimized at varied pH microenvironment, different nutrient media and NaNO3 concentrations, and the Bold Basal Medium (BG-11) was found to be the best medium for biomass, total chlorophyll and protein contents.
Journal ArticleDOI

A New Lipid Rich Microalgal SP Scenedesmus Dimorphus Isolated: Nile Red Staining and Effect of Carbon, Nitrogen Sources on its Physio-Biochemical Components

TL;DR: Assessment of the effect of various carbon sources viz., glucose, sucrose, fructose, glycerol, sodium acetate and various nitrogen sources on lipid, biomass, total chlorophyll, protein and carbohydrate content in Scenedesmsus dimorphus found highest chlorophyLL content has been found in urea and maximum protein content in ammonium nitrate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selection of nitrogen source affects the growth and metabolic enzyme activities of Chlorella vulgaris (Beijerinck) strain R-06/2 (Chlorophyta)

TL;DR: The results showed the strain is tolerant, maintaining efficient metabolic enzyme functions and good growth under all studied cultivation conditions, and helps to better understand algal metabolism and the increment in production of low-cost nutritional biomass.
