TLDR
The thermodynamics of mixing of two miscible or immiscible polymers with a solid has been considered in this paper, and it is shown theoretically that the introduction of a specific filler in binary polymer mixtures increases the thermodynamic stability of the ternary system.

Uneven distribution of nanoparticles in immiscible fluids: Morphology development in polymer blends

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the current knowledge on how solid nanoparticles organize in polymer blends is presented, focusing on the competition between thermodynamic wetting of the solid by the polymeric phases and kinetic control of the filler localization.

Structuration, selective dispersion and compatibilizing effect of (nano)fillers in polymer blends

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of fillers on the phase separation of an immiscible polymer blend is discussed. And the main discussed thermodynamically controlling parameter of the localization is the wetting parameter omega(AB), however, because of the viscosity of the system, the equilibrium dictated by Omega(AB may never reach.

Immiscible polymer blends stabilized with nano-silica particles: Rheology and effective interfacial tension

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of inorganic silica nanoparticles on the morphology and viscoelastic properties of polypropylene/poly(ethylene- co-vinyl acetate) (PP/EVA) immiscible blends has been investigated.

Influence of Nanoparticles on Miscibility of Polymer Blends. A Simple Theory

TL;DR: In this article, a simple theory describing the influence of nanoparticles on thermodynamics of binary polymer mixture was proposed, where the authors consider the case in which nanoparticles preferentially segregate into one of the polymeric components.

Polymer blends and interpenetrating polymer networks at the interface with solids

TL;DR: In this article, the phase state of the polymer blends in thin layers at the interface and the mechanisms of the changing conditions of phase separation in the presence of a solid are discussed.

Miscible ternary blends containing polycarbonate, SAN, and aliphatic polyesters

TL;DR: In this paper, the melting point depression of PCL in the ternary and in binary mixtures was studied to obtain interaction parameters for the PCL/PC and SAN/PC binaries, which were used to calculate the locus of compositions which mark the boundary between single and multiple phase behavior.

Miscibility behavior of ternary poly(methyl methacrylate)/poly(ethyl methacrylate)/poly(p-vinylphenol) blends

TL;DR: In this paper, the phase behavior of ternary blends consisting of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), polymethyl methacelate (PEMA), and poly(p-vinylphenol) (PVPh) was investigated by DSC and SEM.
