A Note on The Examination of Morphometric Differentiation Among Fish Populations: The Truss System
TL;DR: A computer-originated approach to the collection and analysis of morphometric characteristics of stocks is described and a new system of Morphometric measurements called The Truss Network System has been increasingly used for stock identification.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence for Lack of Homing by Sea Lampreys
TL;DR: Tagged sea lampreys did not appear to home, but instead seemed to select spawning streams through innate attraction to oth... the distribution of tag recoveries among streams lakewide was proportional to catch.
Journal ArticleDOI
A General Framework for Developing Sequential Fisheries Models
TL;DR: A general framework for developing sequential fishery models and estimating model parameters from available data is presented, which generalizes the conventional definition of state space model to include nonlinear equations with nonnormal error.
Journal ArticleDOI
Production of Fraser River sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) in relation to decadal-scale changes in the climate and the ocean
TL;DR: The response of Fraser River sockeye to climate changes may be a specific example of a more general response by a number of species of fishes in the Pacific and perhaps in other oceans.

Oil platforms off California are among the most productive marine fish habitats globally
Jeremy T. Claisse,Daniel J. Pondella,Milton S. Love,Laurel A. Zahn,Chelsea M. Williams,Jonathan P. Williams,Ann Scarborough Bull +6 more
TL;DR: It is found that oil and gas platforms off the coast of California have the highest secondary fish production per unit area of seafloor of any marine habitat that has been studied, about an order of magnitude higher than fish communities from other marine ecosystems.
