TL;DR: It is concluded that the higher scope for growth of more heterozygous bivalves is translated into allocation of energy to somatic growth during early life and into gamete production in later life, which may explain why the correlation between growth rate and heterozygosity in bivalve is manifested most clearly when young individuals are examined.

TL;DR: A laboratory 15N tracer study, a laboratory feeding study, and bioenergetics modeling with rainbow trout showed that rainbow trout consumed and to a lesser extent assimilated NZMSs, and rainbow trout fed 15N-labeledNZMSs had muscle isotopic signatures that were 80% higher than those of fish fed unlabeled Kiwi mud snail and 30% lower than thoseof fish fed 15 N- labeled amphipods.
