Influence of temperature on concrete beams strengthened in flexure with CFRP

E.L. Klamer
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of temperature on the debonding behavior of externally bonded CFRP reinforced concrete structures has been investigated both with small scale bond tests and with full scale beams, strengthened in flexure.

Stability of rigid rotors supported by air foil bearings: Comparison of two fundamental approaches

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compare two fundamental methods for predicting the Onset Speed of Instability (OSI) of a direct drive motor using Air Foil Bearings (AFB).

Nonlinear Aeroelastic Study for Folding Wing Structures

TL;DR: In this paper, a folding wing structure consisting of three components (a fuselage, an inboard wing, and an outboard wing) is modeled computationally using a geometrically nonlinear structural dynamics theory based upon von Karman strains andathree-dimensionalvortexlattice aerodynamic model with an exacttangent flowboundary condition and planar wake assumption.

Wrinkling Analysis of A Kapton Square Membrane under Tensile Loading

TL;DR: In this article, a buckling solution and a non-linear postbuckling solution were employed for the wrinkling analysis of a tensioned Kapton square membrane, and the results showed that the wrinkle number and distribution remained stable until loads exceed a certain level, then new wrinkles occurred usually by splitting from existing wrinkles.

Some new distortion measures for quadrilaterals

TL;DR: In this article, a new definition of shape parameters for a quadrilateral is presented and the shape parameters can be expressed in terms of simple polynomial coefficients with a clear physical meaning.
