TLDR
In this article, the segment-segment interaction parameter χ is reported as a function of temperature for four pairs of polyolefin based on polyethylene, poly(ethylenepropylene), poly(ethylethylene) and poly (ethylene-co-ethylthylene), and a correlation between the magnitude of χ and the statistical segment length asymmetry was established.
Abstract
The segment-segment interaction parameter χ is dreported as a function of temperature for four pairs of polyolefin based on polyethylene, poly(ethylenepropylene), poly(ethylethylene) and poly(ethylene-co-ethylethylene). These results are not anticipated by the traditional Flory-Huggins heat of mixing. However, a correlation between the magnitude of χ and the statistical segment length asymmetry was established. This contribution to χ is attributed to the mismatch in polymer conformational size that must be accomodated in order to achieve a homogeneous mixture

Patterning with block copolymer thin films

TL;DR: In this article, the authors review a variety of mechanisms for gaining control over block copolymer order as well as many of the applications of these materials and the potential of perfecting long-range two-dimensional order over a broader range of length scales and the extension of these concepts to functional materials and more complex architectures.

Self-Assembly of Peptide-Based Diblock Oligomers

TL;DR: The synthesis and supramolecular organization of a novel class of rod-coil type diblock oligomers, which consist of a rodlike α-helical oligopeptide segment that is conjugated to an oligo(styrene) coil, will be discussed.
