A scheme for robust distributed sensor fusion based on average consensus

TL;DR: This work proposes a simple distributed iterative scheme, based on distributed average consensus in the network, to compute the maximum-likelihood estimate of the parameters, and shows that it works in a network with dynamically changing topology, provided that the infinitely occurring communication graphs are jointly connected.

Distributed Kalman Filter with Embedded Consensus Filters

TL;DR: This paper shows that a central Kalman filter for sensor networks can be decomposed into n micro-Kalman filters with inputs that are provided by two types of consensus filters, and demonstrates that these filters can approximate these sums and give an approximate distributed Kalman filtering algorithm.

Consensus Filters for Sensor Networks and Distributed Sensor Fusion

TL;DR: This paper introduces a distributed filter that allows the nodes of a sensor network to track the average of n sensor measurements using an average consensus based distributed filter called consensus filter.

A non-divergent estimation algorithm in the presence of unknown correlations

TL;DR: It is proved that this algorithm yields consistent estimates irrespective of the actual correlations, which is illustrated in an application of decentralised estimation where it is impossible to consistently use a Kalman filter.

A Review of Data Fusion Techniques

TL;DR: This paper summarizes the state of the data fusion field and describes the most relevant studies, enumerate and explain different classification schemes for data fusion, and reviews the most common algorithms.

Survey of decentralized control methods for large scale systems

TL;DR: In this article, the authors survey the control theoretic literature on decentralized and hierarchical control, and methods of analysis of large scale systems, and present a survey of the control theory of large-scale systems.

Decentralized structures for parallel Kalman filtering

TL;DR: H hierarchical network structures are developed that have the property that the optimal global estimate based on all the available information can be reconstructed from estimates computed by local processor nodes solely on the basis of their own local information and transmitted to a central processor.
