Digital image and volume correlation with X-ray micro-computed tomography for deformation and damage characterisation of woven fibre-reinforced composites

TL;DR: In this article , the authors combined surface digital image correlation (DIC) with 3D micro-computed tomography (μ CT) and corresponding digital volume correlation as a non-contact approach to assess the deformation and damage of woven thermoplastic composites.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors combine surface digital image correlation (DIC) with 3D micro-computed tomography (μ CT) and corresponding digital volume correlation as a non-contact approach to access the deformation and damage of woven thermoplastic composites.

Digital speckle correlation method improved by genetic algorithm

MaShaopeng, +1 more
TL;DR: Benefiting from the abilities of global optimum and parallelism searching of GA, this new approach can complete the correlation-matching search with less computational consumption and at high accuracy.

Displacement mapping of point clouds: application of retaining structures composed of sheet piles

TL;DR: In this paper, a large-scale retaining structure with a width of 70 meters and a height of 6 meters was monitored using 3-D laser scanning, and the displacement mapping results identified not only the local behavior of the sheet pile, but also the global behavior, such as the expansion of the maximum displacement in the retaining structure.

Distinctive Image Features from Scale-Invariant Keypoints

TL;DR: This paper presents a method for extracting distinctive invariant features from images that can be used to perform reliable matching between different views of an object or scene and can robustly identify objects among clutter and occlusion while achieving near real-time performance.

Snakes : Active Contour Models

TL;DR: This work uses snakes for interactive interpretation, in which user-imposed constraint forces guide the snake near features of interest, and uses scale-space continuation to enlarge the capture region surrounding a feature.

Object recognition from local scale-invariant features

TL;DR: Experimental results show that robust object recognition can be achieved in cluttered partially occluded images with a computation time of under 2 seconds.

Generalizing the hough transform to detect arbitrary shapes

TL;DR: It is shown how the boundaries of an arbitrary non-analytic shape can be used to construct a mapping between image space and Hough transform space, which makes the generalized Houghtransform a kind of universal transform which can beused to find arbitrarily complex shapes.
