Abstract
In this note simple and straightforward methods to design full- and reduced-order observers for linear time-invariant descriptor systems are presented. The approach for the reduced-order observer design is based on the generalized Sylvester equation. Sufficient conditions for the existence of the observers are given. An illustrative example is included. >

Generalized state-space observers for chaotic synchronization and secure communication

TL;DR: A simple and useful technique for both synchronization and secure communication of chaotic systems is developed based on generalized state space observer design for a class of nonlinear systems and shows that asymptotic stability is assured under mild conditions.

Design of proportional-integral observer for unknown input descriptor systems

TL;DR: This note presents simple methods to design full- and reduced- order proportional integral observer for unknown inputs (UI) descriptor systems and achieves a posteriori robustness state and UI estimation versus to time varying parameters and bounded nonlinear UI.

Reduced-order observer design for descriptor systems with unknown inputs

TL;DR: A new method for the design of reduced-order observers for descriptor systems with unknown inputs based on the generalized constrained Sylvester equation and sufficient conditions for the existence of the observer are given.

Design of observers for TakagiߝSugeno descriptor systems with unknown inputs and application to fault diagnosis

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for state-estimation of Takagi-Sugeno descriptor systems (TSDS) affected by unknown inputs (UI) is presented, where the proposed observers are not in descriptor form but in usual form.

Observer design for descriptor systems

TL;DR: Two detectability notions are introduced for the most general class of linear descriptor systems and a unified procedure is provided for the design of observers in both forms.

Observers for discrete singular systems

TL;DR: In this article, the design of observers for the discrete singular system Ex(k+1)=Ax(k)+Bu(k), y(k)=Cx(k) was considered, placing special emphasis on the problems of state reconstruction and minimal-time state reconstruction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Observers for descriptor systems

TL;DR: The design of observers is investigated for the estimation of the descriptor vector x(t) of descriptor systems of the form Ex-t + Bu-t, y-t = Cx(t), and an observer of order (rank — m) is introduced and termed a minimal-order observer.

On the design of observers for generalized state space systems using singular value decomposition

TL;DR: In this article, a method is developed for the design of Luenberger-type observers for linear time-invariant control systems whose state equation is of the form Ex= Ax+Bu where E is a singular square matrix.
