Abstract
A novel filter design method has been proposed for implementing linear Continuous Phase Modulation receivers. The design is based on the observation of all possible waveform tracks at the receiver. A piece-wise approximation is subsequently used to obtain a triangular filter which can be efficiently implemented in hardware. The resulting filters have shown excellent bit error rate performances in comparison with the existing CPM receivers. For improved bit error rate performances a modified CPM frequency pulse is also proposed.

Exact and Approximate Construction of Digital Phase Modulations by Superposition of Amplitude Modulated Pulses (AMP)

TL;DR: It is shown that any constant amplitude binary phase modulation can also be expressed as a sum of a finite number of time limited amplitude modulated pulses (AMP decomposition), and new methods for computing autocorrelation and power frequency spectrum are derived.

Decomposition of M-ary CPM signals into PAM waveforms

TL;DR: It is shown that any binary continuous phase-modulated signal may be exactly decomposed into the sum of a few PAM waveforms, and that this property extends to multilevel CPM signaling.
