TLDR
In this article, a low magnitude seismic response of a historical masonry structure, the Santa Maria di Collemaggio basilica, was acquired by a complex monitoring system, where ten FBA accelerometers, nine placed on the basilica facade and one on the ground level, recorded respectively the base accelerogram (Input) and the structural response (Output).

Dynamic identification and model updating of an eight-storey CLT building

TL;DR: The identified storey masses are indeed realistic and confirm the negligible role of the connections in the low-amplitude dynamic response, and the nonlinear effects of connections over the building response to higher displacements are discussed, providing simplified and practice-oriented correlations for the first natural frequency estimation.

Sensitivity analysis of subspace-based damage indicators under changes in ambient excitation covariance, severity and location of damage

TL;DR: The role of damage location in the probabilistic assessment of damage is discussed: a methodological Bayesian approach, based on the results of the sensitivity analysis, is proposed for the development of a structural reliability analysis driven by damage indicators.

Time-domain identification of the elastic modulus of simply supported box girders under moving loads: Method and full-scale validation

TL;DR: In this article, the elastic modulus assessment of concrete bridges is derived from an Ordinary Least Square procedure with a Bayesian uncertainty estimation, obtained by approximating the known term of the governing equations due to the travelling force with a square wave signal.

Assessment of structural interventions using Bayesian updating and subspace-based fault detection methods: the case study of S. Maria di Collemaggio basilica, L’Aquila, Italy

TL;DR: A permanent monitoring system installed in a monumental masonry structure, the basilica of Santa Maria di Collemaggio in L’Aquila Italy, continuously acquires vibration data, which leads to the assessment of a structural intervention using a simple Bayesian approach driven by subspace-based indicators.

Fragility functions and behavior factors estimation of multi-story cross-laminated timber structures characterized by an energy-dependent hysteretic model:

TL;DR: In this paper, the fragility functions and behavior factors of cross-laminated timber (CLT) structures were assessed and the structures derived from the assembly of single CLT wall panels characterized by diff...

Seismic vulnerability assessment of historical masonry structural systems

TL;DR: In this paper, a methodology for earthquake resistant design or assessment of masonry structural systems is presented using case studies from historical masonry structures in the European area, and the applicability of the proposed method is checked via analyses of existing masonry buildings in three countries, namely Greece, Portugal and Cyprus, with different seismicity levels.

Seismic assessment of rocking masonry structures

TL;DR: A displacement-based approach based on an incremental limit analysis of rigid blocks is proposed for the performance-based assessment of rocking masonry structures, such as: rocky structures (archeological remains, obelisks, columns, trilithons), arch-piers systems (e.g. triumphal arches, belfries), out-of-plane mechanisms of walls (standing out walls, facades in buildings or churches etc.) or artistic assets prone to overturn.

Identification of linear structural systems using earthquake‐induced vibration data

TL;DR: In this article, the authors address the issue of system identification for linear structural systems using earthquake induced time histories of the structural response and propose a methodology based on the Eigensystem Realization Algorithm (ERA) and on the Observer/Kalman filter IDentification (OKID) approach to perform identification of structural system using general input-output data via Markov parameters.

Automated output-only dynamic identification of civil engineering structures

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a literature review on the field of automated modal identification and tracking procedures for structural health assessment, and some case studies are also reported in order to validate the approach.

Output-only modal parameter identification of civil engineering structures

TL;DR: In this paper, two complementary modal analysis methods are implemented: peak picking (PP) method in frequency domain and more advanced stochastic subspace identification method in time domain.
