Book ChapterDOI
Viruses of Invertebrates
T. W. Tinsley,K.A. Harrap +1 more
TL;DR: It is encouraging that in recent years reports have appeared on virus diseases of invertebrates other than insects and mites, but some of the reports must be regarded with caution until the viral nature of the causative agent has been fully established.
Book ChapterDOI
Cytoplasmic Polyhedrosis Viruses
TL;DR: CPVs are most clearly distinguished from other members of this family in having virus particles that lack a double capsid layer and that are commonly occluded within large proteinaceous inclusion bodies during replication.
Book ChapterDOI
Cytoplasmic polyhedrosis viruses-Reoviridae.
TL;DR: This chapter discusses CPV with current updated results, mainly obtained in the laboratory, on the replication as well as on the biochemical and molecular biology of this group of viruses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus: RNA synthesized in vivo and in vitro in infected midgut
Y. Hayashi,T.P. Donaghue +1 more
TL;DR: RNA synthesized in vivo and in vitro in midgut infected with CPV is analyzed and single-stranded RNA in vitro is synthesized for the first time.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of actinomycin D on RNA synthesis in the midguts of healthy and CPV-infected silkworms
TL;DR: In the midguts of silkworms infected with cytoplasmic-polyhedrosis virus (CPV), the viral RNA (vRNA) synthesis was scarcely affected during virus multiplication, although cellular rRNA synthesis was suppressed by AMD injections, suggesting that the RNA of CPV is synthesized independently of host cell RNA synthesis.
