TLDR

Self-Duality and N = 2 String Magic

TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider strings with an N = 2 local superconformal symmetry on the worldsheet and show that a Kahler function giving rise to self-dual gravity is the only physical degree of freedom of this theory.

Removal of divergences with the Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show how to remove the divergences in an arbitrary gauge-field theory (possibly non-renormalizable, i.e. involving infinitely many parameters) in the contex of the Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism.
Journal ArticleDOI

Algebraic structure of gravity with torsion

TL;DR: In this article, the BRST transformations for gravity with torsion are discussed by using the Maurer-Cartan horizontality conditions, with the help of an operator which allows the decomposition of the exterior spacetime derivative as a BRST commutator.

Anomalies in instanton calculus

TL;DR: In this paper, a formalism for solving topological field theories explicitly, in the case when the explicit expression of the instantons is known, was developed, in which unexpected interesting hidden quantities (punctures, contact terms, nonperturbative anomalies with or without gravity) are revealed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Some remark on consistent anomalies in gauge theories

TL;DR: In this article, a new method for solving the descent equations for gauge theories proposed by Sorella [Comm. Math. Phys. 157 (1993) 231] is shown to be equivalent with that based on the Russian formula, which allows to obtain in a closed form the expression of the consistent anomaly in any space time dimension.

Topological quantum field theory

TL;DR: A twisted version of four dimensional supersymmetric gauge theory is formulated in this paper, which refines a nonrelativistic treatment by Atiyah and appears to underlie many recent developments in topology of low dimensional manifolds; the Donaldson polynomial invariants of four manifolds and the Floer groups of three manifolds appear naturally.

On the Structure of the Topological Phase of Two-dimensional Gravity

TL;DR: In this paper, the correlation functions of the naturally occuring operators in the minimal topological model are computed, using topological methods, in genus zero and genus one, suggesting that the two approaches to two-dimensional gravity are equivalent.
Journal ArticleDOI

Topological strings in d < 1

TL;DR: In this article, the correlation functions in minimal topological field theories were calculated using the Landau-Ginzburg superpotential and the KdV differential operator, and it was shown that the minimal topology models are in perfect agreement with the matrix models as solved in terms of the kdV hierarchy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geometry of N=2 strings

TL;DR: In this paper, the geometrical aspects of the vacua and their relation to twistor space, W∞, harmonic superspace and the superstring world-sheet are discussed.
