Wyner-Ziv Video Coding with Coding Mode-Aided Motion Compensation

TL;DR: A new block discrete cosine transform (DCT)-based Wyner-Ziv video codec with coding mode-aided motion compensation at the decoder is proposed and the key is that for each block, a large amount of candidate blocks are evaluated based on some criteria derived from Reed-Solomon decoding and best neighborhood matching to find the best candidate block as the side information.

Linear Network Coding on Multi-Mesh of Trees (MMT) using All to All Broadcast (AAB)

TL;DR: This work introduces linear network coding on parallel architecture for multi-source finite acyclic network and uses all-to-all broadcast as communication algorithm to minimize the communication steps and time complexity involved in transfer of data from node- to-node during parallel communication.

Robust airborne image transmission using joint source-channel coding with UEP

TL;DR: This paper designs a joint source-channel coding framework for transmitting compressed image signals over airborne communication channels, and evaluates rate-compatible punctured convolutional (RCPC) channel coding technique combined with both UEP and equal error protection (EEP) for the set partitioning in hierarchical trees (SPIHT) image compression scheme.

Provision of Guaranteed QoS with Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request in Interleave Division Multiple Access Systems

TL;DR: This paper investigates the problem of provision of guaranteed QoS by hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) schemes, based on soft outputs of a channel decoder, and proposes an adaptation scheme based upon the bit error rate in the accepted packets.
